The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. This position is NOT Remote and is located at the Sentara Independence office in Virginia Beach, VA. Orientation will require direct patient care shifts onsite on Intermediate Care and Medical Surgical units at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to assist with learning the virtual platform and workflow at the bedside. Full-time position requires 3-12 hour shifts per week, Weekends Only (Fri-Mon) Nights: 7 pm- 7 am Leverage the use of technology to enhance patient care in the hospital and provide support to nurses at the bedside. Virtual RNs can support the team at the bedside to alleviate the workload and provide greater satisfaction for both the patients and the nursing staff. They handle administrative tasks that take significant time but don't require hands-on care. This improves workflow while ensuring patients are fully informed about the care they have received.     Aptive Resources is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hematology/Oncology Specialized Registered Nurses to support the National Teleconology Division at the Veterans Health Services. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our veterans. Primary Responsibilities Process incoming consults by assigned team and subspecialty diagnoses: Contractor's staff(s) shall follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) titled Team Consult Care Coordinator Registered Nurse (CCRN) Procedures, CLO 201, dated 5/22/2024 to handle all incoming consults to the assigned team. More than three (3) deviations from SOP guidelines in a quarter are considered unacceptable. Communication with the supervisor: Contractor's staff(s) shall notify the nurse manager on the same day if, the required time frame in SOP CLO 201 cannot be met. Process individual view alerts in CPRS: Contractor's staff(s) shall process view alerts no later than seven (7) days from the date they were created. Customer Service: The Contractor's staff(s) shall consistently demonstrate Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE) values. The Contractor's staff shall have no more than two (2) written, valid, substantiated complaints from internal or external customers per quarter. Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Hematology/Oncology clinical patients. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. Attend staff meetings as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee Coordinate and manage comprehensive patient care plans for veterans, ensuring all medical and psychosocial needs are met. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams at the Teleoncology Division to provide holistic care and optimize patient outcomes. Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to veterans' unique needs. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure the highest quality of care. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and available resources. Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a seamless care experience. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with VA policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency. Current and unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Experience working with veterans or within a VA medical facility. Familiarity with electronic health records and care coordination platforms.     Remote Oncology Registered Nurse Job

    The nurse is responsible for the interpretation of the physician's written order, and dispensing of medications and intravenous solutions for inpatients in a manner consistent with Federal and State Laws. In addition, the RN is responsible for auditing charts and gathering information for the Performance Improvement (PI) programs which are required by the Hospital in order to meet the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAHO) standards or the hospital's internal PI programs. The RN reports directly to the RN Charge Nurse or his/her designee and provides daily assignments and makes rounds with the Physicians. If the RN Charge nurse is not available or the position is vacant, the Staff RN will assume those responsibilities until a Charge RN is available. Must be a graduate of an accredited college and possess a current valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arkansas. Previous hospital experience with medical, surgical, orthopedic, oncology, renal experience, however, beginning practitioners will be considered. The employee, must speak, read, and write grammatically correct English. Is capable of sitting and standing for long periods of time throughout the work-day. Walking or running medium distances without stopping within the hospital. Is able to climb stairs and use elevators; reaching for, lifting, and carrying relatively lightweight supplies and equipment; have manual and finger dexterity, visual acuity, and self-control under pressure; must have the ability to work variable shifts, have means of being contacted. Volunteers to work extra shifts in times of emergency or extenuating circumstances and/or situations. Must meet all requirements of staff RN charge job description. Aids in meeting JCAHO accreditation standards.
