Responsibilities And Duties: Serves as an education and development resource for OhioHealth hospitals and business units Acts as liaison to match needs of business unit with resources from Organizational Development Assists in strategic planning of system educational needs. Manages educational projects as assigned Facilitates centralized educational programs Ensures standardization of education including but not limited to orientation, annual competency assessment, regulatory, accreditation and certification, and management and associate development. Summary: The research assistant position is an entry-level, full-time role for professionals who would like to gain clinical research experience. OhioHealth Research Institute (OHRI) is a centralized department that fosters medical treatments and enhanced patient experiences through clinical trials, scholarly activity and other programs. The purpose of this position is to provide coordination and support for OHRI Research Operations as it relates to therapeutic/interventional clinical trials, academic research, regulatory, quality assurance and other research operations roles as needed. This position is responsible for assisting research coordinators, regulatory consultants, research specialists, research activation coordinator and other research personnel (as determined by research leadership) in regard to specific team/project activities with the goal of maximizing efficiency of management control systems, programs, policies, work methods and procedures. Manages complex administrative tasks in support of research administration and clinical trials, including but not limited to screening patients, entering/abstracting data, processing research specimens, maintaining clinical trial inventory and documentation (such as specimen kits, long term storage/archival), document filing, assisting with basic IRB submissions, scheduling and coordinating project meetings and assisting with other core administrative activities in support of research operations. Based on performance and demonstrated competency, OHRI research assistants who do not possess a bachelor's degree may be eligible to apply for a clinical research coordinator, regulatory coordinator or other applicable position within OHRI. In the absence of the Lead Communications Center Specialist, he/she is responsible for the operation of the Communications Center during assigned shift periods. Completes and maintains accurate records of Hospital Control Center activity to permit development of activity and trend reports. Summary: The Human Milk Tech is responsible for highly specialized tasks for the preparation, inventory, distribution and management of mother's breast milk. Both Human Milk (HM) and Donor Human Milk (DHM) will be processed for nutritional needs/additives in supporting the neonate in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Demonstrate competencies relative to infection control principles, appropriate technical calculation (weights and measures conversions, including metrics). Demonstrate knowledge of common medical abbreviations and terminologies, available formula products and human milk additives. Effectively communicates with members of the health care team. Assures all equipment in Hospital Control Center works correctly, including but not limited t o : numerous VCRs, Multiplexers, Monitors, Cameras, Computers, Dictaphone Recording System, Intercoms, Card Readers, and other miscellaneous equipment; initiates troubleshooting procedures with corrective action, if necessary. Follows Control Center procedures for incidents involving use of hospital Emergency Action Plans with miscellaneous alarm responses such as: Medical Gases, Emergency Generators, Pharmacy, etc. 10% Maintains log sheets of activity of Hospital Control Center, duties performed, locations of officers, dispatched control or security incidents and other documents by using various types of software and hand written logs. Responsible for issues of keys and documentation of same. Assists in lost and found. Enters and modifies data in computer systems for audit and date management purposes. Completes and maintains accurate records of Hospital Control Center activity to permit development of activity and trend reports. Routinely tests field equipment such as: infant alarm system, intercoms and panic devices on quarterly and monthly basis; records results and keeps records of each test. Maintains assigned projects for which they are responsible for in keeping the information within the Hospital Control Center up to date. 10% Supervises operation of Hospital Control Center on assigned shift in absence of Lead Control Center Specialists.
