Starting wages are based on a 173.33-hour work month. Hours will increase to 182.53 hours per month after the initial orientation and training period. Salary Information: The salary range for Redmond, OR (RDM - Roberts Field) is $43,876 to $56,282 or $21.02 to $26.97 per hour and includes locality pay of 17.06%.
This Transportation Security Officer position is located in Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSOs) within Security Operations (SO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. Duties may include but are not limited to:
* Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
* Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property, etc.), conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50lbs.
* Controlling terminal entry and exit points.
* Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries.
* Maintaining focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment which includes noise from alarms, machinery and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, and disruptive and angry passengers, in order to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life threatening or mass destruction devices, and to make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations.

Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to the GS-5/6), you must meet one of the qualification requirements (A OR B) outlined below:
A. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience in the security Industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
OR
B. Education: Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) high school equivalency certificate.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. TSO Dress and Appearance Responsibilities: TSOs must adhere to the current TSA dress and appearance requirements. For example, with the exception of half-inch diameter stud-style earrings, non-protruding ear gauges or spacers that match your skin and do not exceed one half-inch diameter, inconspicuous nose or tongue piercings that match your skin or tongue, body piercings may not be visible to the public. These requirements dictate if you have a tattoo that would be visible beyond the standard TSO uniform in areas such as the head and face including a partial tattoo that extends more than one inch beyond the upper neck or behind the ear, it could potentially render you ineligible for the position unless it was able to be covered at all times and not visible to the general public. Additionally, tattoos that are indecent, commonly associated with gangs, extremists, and/or supremacist organizations or that advocate sexual, racial, or religious discrimination, or have a negative impact on TSA's ability to carry out its mission must be covered at all times.
Work Schedules for Full-time Positions: Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport.
* Full-time positions require 40 hours per week;
* Full-time work consists of shift-work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, which may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts and weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts.
* A "split-shift" consists of any two work shifts, each lasting at least two (2) hours in one 24-hour period, with at least two (2) hours between work shifts.

* Recurrent and specialized training and recertification tests on a periodic basis
* Passing background investigations, including a criminal check and credit check, and all randomly administered drug and alcohol screening tests.
No moving, relocation or pre-employment travel expenses will be paid for this position, or while in application for this position. This position is not a law enforcement position and therefore, is not covered by Law Enforcement Availability Pay or Law Enforcement Retirement. I. Job Purpose: This position is responsible for the supervision, care and safety of all inmates incarcerated in the Crook County Jail Facility (CCJF). This position daily performs jail institution activities and investigates incidents that occur inside the jail. This position is also responsible for transporting inmates between jail facilities and to court. Work is performed in a combined work environment of both the general jail facility and an office and occasionally in a vehicle. This requires a high level of public contact and stressful situations with inmates in the Jail. This position is responsible for duties that require certification by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).

* Support total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available to our guests. Welcome and engage guests at the front of the store and on the salesfloor.
* Influence and validate physical security and safety processes; participate in store response and emergency crisis situations; create security plans for in-store events.
* Support your leader in educating teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures.
* Develop, coach and lead your team members to elevate their skills and expertise, per direction from your leader.

Patrols City streets, parks, commercial and residential areas to preserve the peace and enforce the law, control vehicular traffic prevent or detect and investigate misconduct involving misdemeanors, felonies, and other law violations' and to otherwise serve and protect.
Responds to emergency radio calls and investigates accidents, robberies, civil disturbances, domestic disputes, fights, drunkenness, missing children, prowlers, abuse of drugs, etc. Takes appropriate law enforcement action.
Interrogates suspects, witnesses, and drivers. Preserves evidence. Arrests violators. Investigates and rendersassistance at scene of vehicular accidents. Summons ambulances and other law enforcement vehicles.Takesmeasurements anddrawsdiagrams ofscene.
Conducts follow-up investigations of crimes committed during assigned shift. Seeks out and questions victim, witnesses, and suspects. Develops leads and tips. Searches scene of crimes for evidence.Analyzes andevaluates evidence and arrests offenders. Prepares cases for giving testimony and testifies in courtproceedings.
Prepares a variety of reports and records including officer's Daily Log, reports of investigation, fieldinterrogation report, alcohol reports, influence reports, intoxilyzer, check list, bad check form, vehicleimpoundmentform,traffic hazardreport,etc.
Undertakes community-oriented police work, and assists citizens with such matters as stalled vehicles, crime prevention, traffic safety; works with members of the community to find innovative and non-traditional ways to solve community issues and problems. Participates in investigating criminal law violations occurring within the City limits, obtaining evidence, and compiling information regarding these crimes, preparing cases for filing of charges, testifying in court, and related activities.
Conducts patrol activities including directing traffic, investigation of reported or observed violations of law, and conducting patrol activities.
Coordinates activities with other officers or other City departments as needed, exchanges information with officers in other law enforcement agencies, and obtains advice from the City Attorney, District Attorney, Court Administrator, Circuit Court and Justice Court Office regarding cases, policies, and procedures, as needed and assigned.
Maintains contact with police supervisory personnel to coordinate investigation activities, provide mutual assistance during emergency situations and provides general information about Department activities.

Special Requirements or Licenses:
The position requires employees to operate a motor vehicle in the course of their position. Possession of, or must obtain within thirty (30) days from date of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license, without record of suspension or revocation in any State; must possess a safe driving record.
Selected candidate must pass a thorough background investigation, physical and psychological examination.
Possession of, or ability to acquire within one year, a Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) basic certificate.
Officers already certified as a police officer through DPSST, or other state's equivalent would be hired as a lateral officer.
Entry Level/Basic Officers will need to have the National Testing Network Frontline test completed within the last twelve (12) months.
All Officers need to have successfully completed the Oregon Physical Abilities Test (ORPAT) and attach it to your account through National testing Network, also completed within the last twelve (12) months. The time to successfully pass ORPAT is 5:30. If you have a valid and current ORPAT test from another agency or PAT test from another state, you may submit it along with your City application.

Desirable Requirements:
For desirable requirements to be considered, one must have met the minimum requirements noted above:
A Bachelor's Degree in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice administration, public administration, social science, or related field; or an equivalent combination of military, education, and experience. Some knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment. Skill in operating the tools and equipment listed. Basic emergency first aid. Proficiency with both English/Spanish languages is a plus.
