In anticipation of future openings, the Bangor Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer. The Bangor Police Department is the only agency in the area that offers 3 days on, 3 days off patrol work schedule. No flipping from days to nights or vice versa, your assigned shift is set. Bangor Police also invest in their officers with 78 hours of high-quality annual training, to include multiple firearms trainings as well as active threat training throughout the year. The City of Bangor offers the MPERS retirement system for Police Officers. Officers are eligible to retire at 66.67% (two-thirds) pay of their top highest three years. Overtime opportunities will allow for significantly increased earning potential. There is no age limit to withdraw and for every year you remain vested after 25, you add 2%.
