Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.

Education, Experience and Special Requirements

Post-Employment Education Standard
If not achieved prior to employment, all Deputy Sheriffs must attain within five years of their employment either of the following:
1. A two-year associate degree from a Wisconsin vocational, technical, and adult education district or its accredited equivalent from another state or
2. Sixty fully accredited college level credits (the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board may waive up to thirty credits for equivalent experience, training or other qualifications).
Successful completion of the academy may result in up to 16 credits toward this requirement.
Failure to meet the above requirement will result in termination of employment. This is a requirement of the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board for re-certification of law enforcement officers.
Pre-Employment Standard
In order to gain entrance into the 720-hour Basic Law Enforcement Academy, you will need to successfully complete the state-required physical readiness test, passing the following entrance standards:

TSO Dress and Appearance Responsibilities: TSOs must adhere to the current TSA dress and appearance requirements. For example, with the exception of half-inch diameter stud-style earrings, non-protruding ear gauges or spacers that match your skin and do not exceed one half-inch diameter, inconspicuous nose or tongue piercings that match your skin or tongue, body piercings may not be visible to the public. These requirements dictate if you have a tattoo that would be visible beyond the standard TSO uniform in areas such as the head and face including a partial tattoo that extends more than one inch beyond the upper neck or behind the ear, it could potentially render you ineligible for the position unless it was able to be covered at all times and not visible to the general public. As part of the qualification process for the Armed Driver Guard position, a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) is required. This evaluation requires successful completion of testing in the following areas:
Lift:
25lbs vertical lift from 10 inches to 66 inches from the floor (1X)
Lift-Carry:
18lbs vertical lift from 1 inch to 44 inches from the floor, and horizontally transfer 15ft (4X)
18lbs vertical lift from 10 inches to 36 inches from the floor and horizontally transfer 300ft (1X)
50lbs vertical lift from 10 inches to 36 inches from the floor and horizontally transfer 2ft (2X)
Push-Pull:
Horizontally transfer 47lbs of force on a sled (single, non-dominant arm), a distance of 1ft (2X)
Repetitive Coupling:
Squeeze Jamar Hand Dynamometer requiring forces up to 30lbs / both right & left hands (4X)
Climb:
Ascend / Descend a step with heights of 16. 21 & 24 inches from the floor (10X)

Under general direction, the Security Officer provides security services before, during, and after Overture Center events and enforces all facility rules and policies and City Ordinances. Work requires a variable schedule based on events.
Roles & Responsibilities_____________________________________________________________
Provides front-of-house security as well as security for banquets, parties, meetings, or other gatherings in various meeting rooms and theaters according to building policy. Sweeps theaters and rooms prior to events for explosive devices and other items that could harm the public, and takes appropriate action as needed including secondary sweeps to assess risk.
Secures backstage and other areas of the facility requiring controlled access for authorized personnel. Provides security for artists' dressing rooms. Provides property protection for artists' equipment and personal property and escorts artists or special guests through public areas of the building and from building to vehicle when requested. Monitors entrance of Stagehands and cast/crew.
Ensures patron and guest enjoyment and sense of comfort while attending Overture Center events. Utilizes knowledge of building, Overture Center policies, and relationships with staff and vendors to provide the highest level of customer service including assisting with greeting, directions, and way finding.
Challenges patrons or unauthorized personnel and stops unauthorized activities or actions. Provides back-up to Ushers and other facility staff when confronted by uncooperative or unauthorized patrons or visitors.
Staffs Command Center, controls access to backstage area, and performs all related duties. Monitors security camera system. Distributes generic access cards and keys as directed and tracks card and key return. Accepts and monitors all building deliveries and vendor access, logs packages, and notifies staff.
