Starting salary is dependent on experience. We offer a lateral entry program for officers who are certified by the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) or possess equivalent certifications from other states that meet Colorado P.O.S.T. criteria. To recognize and reward experience, we also provide competitive bonuses:

Essential Job Duties
What You'll Do in This Role:
Patrol designated areas of the City to maintain law and order, prevent crimes, and enforce traffic and other laws and ordinances; check buildings for physical security.
Respond to emergencies, including personal and property crimes such as assaults, traffic accidents, burglaries, domestic disturbances, civil complaints, and related incidents.
Collect and process evidence such as fingerprints, fibers, and blood; photograph and preserve evidence to support crime investigations.
Enforce traffic laws; monitor speeds with radar; issue warnings and citations.
Interview suspects, victims, and witnesses in the field.
Document activities through detailed reports and proper preservation of evidence.
Arrest and process prisoners, conduct intoxilyzer tests, and manage prisoner bookings and transfers.
Serve warrants, conduct police raids, and perform bar checks.
Provide accurate and credible testimony in judicial proceedings.
Participate in department-sponsored training programs.

Traffic and Accident Reconstruction Unit
Enforce traffic codes and investigate traffic accidents.
Identify and address traffic trouble areas through surveys and statistical analysis.
Conduct focused traffic enforcement in problem areas identified by citizen reports or crime data.
School Resource Officer Unit:
Build partnerships and trust with students and school staff.
Enhance school safety and assist administration with safety practices.
Educate students, parents, and staff about law enforcement and serve as a positive role model.
Provide counseling to students and staff as needed.
Organize and deliver educational programs and events for schools in the district.
Minimum Qualifications
You Have:
A valid driver's license and Police Officer Standards and Testing (POST) certificate.
The ability to pass pre-employment and post-offer testing, including a background investigation, drug screen, and psychological exam.
Knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, and techniques, including patrol, crime prevention, traffic control, investigation, and identification techniques.
Skill in analyzing situations quickly, making sound judgment, and taking decisive action in high-pressure environments.
Proficiency operating all police-related equipment, including but not limited to personal computers, communication equipment, cameras, firearms, radios, alcohol detection devices, speed detection devices, and emergency vehicles.
Understanding of criminal law, procedure, and evidence rules, as well as state and local laws and ordinances.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to de-escalate tense situations.

Salary Information: The salary range for Farmington, NM (FMN - Four Corners Regional Airport) is $40,332 to $56,282 or $19.33 to $26.97 per hour and includes locality pay of 17.06%.
This Transportation Security Officer position is located in Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSOs) within Security Operations (SO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. Duties may include but are not limited to:
* Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
* Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property, etc.), conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50lbs.
* Controlling terminal entry and exit points.
* Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries.

Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to the GS-5/6), you must meet one of the qualification requirements (A OR B) outlined below:
A. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience in the security Industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
OR
B. Education: Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) high school equivalency certificate.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

TSO Dress and Appearance Responsibilities: TSOs must adhere to the current TSA dress and appearance requirements. For example, with the exception of half-inch diameter stud-style earrings, non-protruding ear gauges or spacers that match your skin and do not exceed one half-inch diameter, inconspicuous nose or tongue piercings that match your skin or tongue, body piercings may not be visible to the public. These requirements dictate if you have a tattoo that would be visible beyond the standard TSO uniform in areas such as the head and face including a partial tattoo that extends more than one inch beyond the upper neck or behind the ear, it could potentially render you ineligible for the position unless it was able to be covered at all times and not visible to the general public. This Supervisory Transportation Security Officer position is located at Four Corners Regional Airport (FMN), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO), you will be responsible for mitigating actual and potential threats against civil aviation and other transportation modes. You will also perform and supervise in your area of specialty, which may include Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and Lead Transportation Security Officers (LTSOs) in the performance of all security functions related to the screening of people, property, and cargo through the use and application of procedures, techniques, and technology. In addition, you will make independent, security-based decisions using intelligence, critical thinking, experience, observation, and passenger engagement. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
* Conducting and supervising subordinate employees in conducting pre-board security screening of persons, their carry-on and checked baggage/cargo.
* Overseeing screening checkpoint(s) and/or baggage screening operations on a day-to-day basis to include equipment, personnel, and the scheduling and rotation of personnel.
* Participating in the development of new policies and procedures, and recommending changes in policy and procedures based on observation of work, as required.

Qualifications:

Under general supervision, guards detainees in the County Detention Facility; provides for the needs of detainees during detention to include but not limited to: lock down detainees in cells after searching for weapons, valuables, drugs or other contraband; serves meals, provides first responder aid if needed; observes conduct and behavior of detainees to prevent disturbances and escapes; inspects locks, cells, pods, closets, hallways, access chases, recreational, medical and kitchen areas, windows, grills, doors, and gates for tampering; performs all other duties in a manner consistent with all policies and procedures within a correctional environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum age requirement of 18 years, with active military duty/service.
21 years of age preferred.
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have no felony convictions or convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude.
Must complete the mandatory Officer Certification process within 6 months of employment.
Valid State of New Mexico Driver's license or be able to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements
Working conditions are typical adult detention facility settings; involves the potential for high stress levels and exposure to hostile situations; some non-standard work hours are required.
Employees may be subject to physical altercations with detainees which may require restraining and/or physically relocating inmates. At time, staff can be called upon to assist with moving unconscious adults in emergency situations for medical treatment. May be required to climb stairs to facilitate appropriate inmate supervision; supervising detainee may require prolonged walking, standing or sitting. May be required to lift 50 pounds or more to accommodate the operational requirements of the facility.
Full-time work hours for this position consist of rotating shift work, nights and weekend shifts and overtime. Rotating shifts is a requirement for the operations of this facility.
Work schedule for this position may include working on religious holidays.
Utilize, process, and navigate the County's electronic ERP system as necessary and appropriate based on the needs and requirements of this position.

Ensure that proper departmental procedures regarding correspondence between the public and detainees are maintained.
Serve detainee meals in accordance with established procedures; ensure that proper counting is maintained of all utensils, cups, trays and detainee counts are correct.
Search detainee property for contraband including but not limited to: alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, weapons, and nuisance contraband as prescribed by facility policy or by law.
Distribute mail for detainees which includes checking for contraband.
Request physical examinations and forward specific requests for medical assistance to the nurse; escort detainees to the nurse's office and provides security for the nurse.
Verify and may write receipts on commissary purchases; ensure that the Commissary vendor distributes purchases to the proper detainees.
Supervise the visitation of attorneys, family members, bondsmen or others.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
