Job Summary:
Prevent, detect and investigate disturbances; maintain order; patrol assigned areas; enforce traffic regulations. Comply with and adhere to all applicable state, federal and local laws.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

A Police Officer assigned to Patrol operates under the direct supervision of the Patrol Commander and Patrol Sergeant. The Patrol Officer is sworn to enforce all laws and ordinances for which the Department is responsible; to protect the lives and property of all persons; and to maintain peace and order within the Village of Mundelein. When properly required to do so the Patrol Officer will provide any service that is necessary for the furtherance of the Department's mission and objectives.

Once hired, candidates will be subject to a field training process to be determined.
Work Schedule
Normally, police officers work an average of eighty hours per two-week period, which amounts to 2,080 hours annually. Currently, the patrol division works 12-hour shifts, which are re-bid on an annual basis.

Maximum benefit is 75% of final pay after 30 years of service.
B.
Mandatory Retirement
- Mandatory retirement age is 65. Employee will be vested in retirement plan with a minimum of eight (8) years of service.

Final Pay
- Final pay is defined as the salary attached to the rank held upon separation from active service.

Voluntary Retirement:
* Minimum Retirement Age 55 with a minimum of 10 years of service.
* Early Retirement Option at age 50 with a minimum of 10 years of service, but a reduction in annuity of 1/2 of 1% for each month under age 55 (6% per year).
* “Final Average Salary” (used to determine pension annuity) is based on an average salary based on the best 8 out of the last 10 years of service.
* Final Average Salary is capped at $130,166.37, increased annually by the lesser of 3% (of the salary amount) or 1/2 of the annual increase in the CPI-U. [2]
* Survivor benefits reduced to 66 2/3% of deceased employee's salary at time of death (subject to cost-of-living adjustments).
* Cost of living adjustments beginning the year after the retiree or survivor turns age 60 with annual increases of the lesser of 3% or ½ of the annual increase in the CPI-U.
* Retirement pension calculated by multiplying 2.5% for each year of service by the “Final Average Salary,” capped at 75%.

Uniforms
The Village will issue uniforms to personnel assigned to the Police Department who are required to wear them. If an officer separates from the Police Department and does not complete his/her initial three-year period, the individual will be required to reimburse the Village for the cost of uniforms. Employees are paid biweekly on Fridays with twenty-six (26) pay periods per year.
Vacation Eligibility (for employees working 40 hours per week or 80 hours bi-weekly)
* After completing one (1) full year of continuous service, an employee is eligible for 10 days of vacation.
* After completing four (4) full years of continuous service, an employee is eligible for 15 days of vacation.
* After completing nine (9) full years of continuous service, an employee is eligible for 20 days of vacation.
* After completing fourteen (14) full years of continuous service, an employee is eligible for 22 days of vacation.
* After completing nineteen (19) full years of continuous service, an employee is eligible for 25 days of vacation.
Vacation is awarded on January 1st in the year you reach your 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th anniversaries.
Holidays
Each full-time police officer will be given four (4) floating holidays and eight (8) and a half regular holidays.
Requirements
Applicants for lateral appointment to the position of Police Officer must meet the following minimum qualifications and requirements at the time of application:

Follows up on truancy cases and problem minors.
Apprehends, arrests, and transports suspects to police holding facility for booking and temporary incarceration. Performs booking of suspects according to established procedures and releases authorized personnel. Transports offenders to and from County Jail facilities as necessary.
Patrols assigned areas by vehicle or on foot, serving as a visible deterrent to crime and remaining alert to special problems in regard to crime prevention and possible criminal activity. Checks business establishments, dwellings and other buildings for signs of illegal entry. Provides information and assistance to general public and investigates suspicious activity or situations.
Enforces Village traffic ordinances, regulates traffic, serving as a visible deterrent, promotes traffic safety, performs speed control activities, issues citations to violators of the Illinois Motors Vehicle Code and the Municipal Code for the Village of Hanover Park. Arrests or warns persons guilty of violating motor vehicle regulations and safe driving practices. Monitors passing traffic to detect stolen vehicles and arrests drivers where ownership is not apparent.
Prepares, maintains, and forwards all requisite reports and records of activities. Reviews all reports and sources of information that aid in the proper disposition of assigned cases. Prepares cases for court presentation and provides relevant testimony in court.
Performs community relations duties as assigned, speaks to school and community group and individuals on a variety of police-related topics for the promotion of crime prevention.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the analysis of information and data to derive impactful reports and actionable products for NICB members and partners. Develop intelligence products identifying fraud trends and other threats to the insurance industry. Apply advanced technologies and methodologies to further NICB's mission to lead a united front to combat and prevent insurance crime through intelligence-driven operations. This analyst will focus on data analytics and creation of intelligence products related to identification of medical fraud trends and detailed medical billing analysis. CPT Code and dashboard development experience is preferred.
Work Arrangement and Description:
This is a hybrid position and the Reporting Location is NICB Headquarters (Oak Brook, IL). The individual will be provided with the privilege and flexibility to work away from NICB Headquarters, but will be required to report periodically in-person based upon business needs, subject to the discretion of their supervisor, and in compliance with NICB's rules and procedures.

Salary Range and Statement:

Lakeland's police officers have the primary responsibility of patrolling the grounds and buildings of the college campus to protect lives and property, discover or prevent crimes, enforce laws, investigate crimes, write reports, make arrests, and testify in court.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Patrol grounds and buildings by car and/or on foot for the purpose of protecting lives and property by discovering or preventing the commission of crimes, enforce laws, rules and regulations and monitor traffic conditions and parking facilities.
* Respond to requests for assistance (e.g., lock-outs) and/or reports of incidents jeopardizing public safety, resulting in injuries, misdemeanors or felonies. Determine appropriate response and interact with other college departments/personnel as well as external public safety forces.
