Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Our Uniformed Division's mission is to protect facilities and venues secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees. Throughout its history, the Uniformed Division has accomplished this mission through individuals who embody honor, integrity and a commitment to excellence.
Today, the Uniformed Division has grown both in size and scope of responsibility and is mandated by law to provide physical security for the White House Complex and the vice president's residence at the Naval Observatory. It also provides security for the Treasury Department building and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C. The Uniformed Division also has specialized teams including Counter Sniper, Emergency Response, K-9, and more.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for Certified Police Officers. Maryland Transit Administration is seeking PREVIOUSLY SWORN POLICE OFFICERS to join its existing force serving MTA Bus, Metro, Light Rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus systems.
The credited salary ranges up to (3) years of service starting at ($77,150 - $85,061). Less than (3) years of credited service ($77,150 - 81,011)
Qualifications
Requirements Include:
AGE/CITIZENSHIP: At least 21 years of age and a citizen of the United States.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate recognized by the State of Maryland.

Selection Process:

Licenses & Certifications
This position requires a valid driver's license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of Maryland.
A complete driving record is required; driving record must be within MTA standards (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years; no more than 3 moving violations in the past 5 years; and no more than 4 current points.
Applicants who were previously certified as a Police Officer in the State of Maryland must be able to be recertified by MPTSC within 1 but no more than 5 years of separation from the previous department/agency, can only receive credit up to (3) years of service per the CBA. An applicant who has completed entrance-level training in another state or for the federal government may be eligible to receive a waiver from a portion of the Commission-required entrance-level training upon: (a) Meeting the established requirements of the Commission and/or (b) Meeting other requirements approved by the Commission.
The Maryland Transit Administration will verify previous certification status and recertification requirements with the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.

Special Requirements:
1. Employee must be able to work 40 hours per week and must be able to work variable shifts, evenings, holidays, and weekends base on the needs of the Maryland Transit Administration.
2.
