Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients. They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm. Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their life's journey.
Responsibilities
Hours of operation: 7pm - 7:30am and every other weekend
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct and indirect patient care in an inpatient or outpatient setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Must assist residents with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of inpatient residents.
Must also provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort to Hospice patients/families and to educate and assist the patient/family in maintaining the maximum level of independent living in a safe environment.

Consistently provide a high level of personalized, sincere and engaging service to patients and families at all times.
Ensure the complete satisfaction of patients and families; promptly and effectively address all concerns.
Qualifications
Education/Regulatory Requirements:
Current license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida.
Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Skills:
Six months experience working in hospital or healthcare environment is preferred.
Must be willing to accept direction and supervision.
Must be able to work comfortably with professionals and volunteers.
Must be able to fulfill assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
Must practice good personal hygiene and be neat and clean in appearance.
Professional Requirements:
Must be able to communicate clearly and understandably.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality in reference to patients, families and staff.
Must be able to understand the Hospice Philosophy and apply it accordingly.
Must be willing to respect the needs, beliefs, behaviors and psychology of patients and families.
Language Skills:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
