UW Medical Center-Northwest - Vascular Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week
Day shifts beginning at 8:00am
RNs can work 5x8s Monday - Friday or 4x10s on Monday & Wednesday-Friday (with every Tuesday off). Additional details will be provided in the interview.
This is a temporary, fixed duration position expected to start in April 2025. We expect this position to run for 8 months.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our Vascular Center is a fast-paced, multifaceted clinic providing a broad mix of inpatient and outpatient procedures, each enhanced by the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. Our vascular surgeons take a multidisciplinary approach to care and are uniquely equipped to tackle challenging diseases, acute and chronic alike. Common procedures we perform include carotid endarterectomy, TEVAR/EVAR (endovascular thoracic/aortic repair), varicose vein stripping, first rib resection, carotid and iliac artery stenting, saphenous vein ablation and fistulograms with angioplasty.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in close partnership with 4 surgeons and 2 nurse practitioners
Regularly provide phase II and phase III anesthesia support
Monitor vital signs while patients are sedated
Help manage emergencies and complications while patients are sedated
Assist our providers in the procedure room, including wound debridement
Prepare patients for discharge and home care
Provide clinic in-basket support and phone triage support, when needed
REQUIREMENTS
2 years of recent surgical or procedural nursing experience
BLS (required by start date)
ACLS (required by start date)
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
