EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with at least 2 years of clinical experience in primary care
• Family Nurse Practitioner with at least 2 years of primary care experience
• Appropriate Maryland licensure and clinical certification, DEA and Maryland CDS, X license
• interest in and/or experience in community health settings
• Experience working in a diverse environment
• Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required
• Excellent communication and team skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment. Travel among Chase Brexton Health Services clinics is required. Exposure to communicable diseases or hazardous material is possible, with little likelihood of harm if established precautions are followed.
• Ability to perform functions normally completed during the course of clinical care (i.e., sitting, standing, fine motor coordination), use of the keyboard for typing or editing of EMR notes, clinically evaluating and communicating plans to patients.

We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Cardiology team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital Center. This will be a full time, 36 hr/week position mainly focused at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital Center with possible availability to cover at Medstar Franklin Square Hospital.

In this role, the PA/NP would be primarily responsible for pre procedure prep and post procedure recovery of Interventional Cardiology patients. They will be working in a well-staffed facility with a state-of-the-art lab. This provider will have immediate access to very experienced APP peers and physicians to learn and grow in their career.
The scheduling for this role will mainly be 3, 12 hr. shifts a week, with occasional shorter shifts depending on rotating weekend shift. There may be opportunity for later coverage hours, but no nights.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Training
* Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
* Experienced Acute Care APP
* License/Certification/Registration
* Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee urgent and primary care walk-ins and appointments of ages 2 and up as the sole provider.
Average volume of 35 patients per 12-hour day, or just under three patients per hour.
Perform minor office procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, toenail removal, and orthopedic splinting.
Perform physicals such as sports, DOT, pre-employment, and annuals.
Evaluate patients for workers' compensation injuries.
Qualifications and Experience:
2+ years experienced preferred but new grads welcome in providing patient care as a NP.
Masters (NP) and appropriate state license
Preference for ABMS Board certification in internal medicine and family practice
Understanding of medical coding and billing
Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens and others
Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email and Microsoft Office as well as comfortable with EMR applications.
Understanding and experience with occupational health practices, including CME qualification, drug testing protocols, employment physicals, and OSHA guidelines.
