The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification

Collaborates with Medical Staff in delivering program specific services. Works as an integral part of the clinician staff by participating in Medical Staff and PA/NP meetings. Provide continuous and comprehensive services necessary for the promotion of optimal mental health, prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders and health maintenance to children and adolescents, ages 12 - 20. This includes the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health problems and psychiatric disorders. The PA/NP works collaboratively with other on-site medical and mental health providers as well as with community PCPs and other allied mental health professionals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Patient Care Management/Documentation
Work collaboratively with a physician and/or mental health provider of record, (if one exists), to provide comprehensive adolescent mental health services.
Through patient evaluation, determine a differential diagnosis and plan for intervention.
Adhere to standards via identified text and/or via office practice standard protocols.
Maintain a customer-oriented approach to meeting patient needs in an expedient manner, involving the family in the plan of care as appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.

Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management with general knowledge in the areas of Historical Trauma and Trauma-informed Care, domestic violence dynamics, pain management, addictive behavior, and development issues.
Maintains compliance with all aspects of regulatory and funding requirements including OSHA, CLIA and Title 22, etc.
Participate in multidisciplinary Team (MDT) conferencing to coordinate clinic treatment plans with internal and external resources.
Provide psychiatric care within the scope of his/her licensure and in accordance with community standards of care.
Serve on committees to promote and maintain community mental health services and delivery systems.
Participate, as needed, in review and analysis of data including, but not limited to, quality improvement adverse clinical incidents, population demographics and morbidity's clinical decision-making and consultation with clinicians to ensure ongoing behavioral health into primary care.
Observes and executes medical protocols, policies, and procedures in compliance with AAAHC standards.
Consultation and Referral
Obtain supervising physician's consultation when problems presented are outside scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of the patient's care according to the PA/NP Standardized Procedures.
Consultation with Director, Medical Services or attending primary care physician is required if the NP/PA wishes to prescribe more than two (2) controlled substances from the same class of medication.
Demonstrate competent knowledge in delivering health care to patients through the peer review processes including chart review, by interactions with physician preceptors and by working collaboratively with support staff and all staff of SSTHP.
Become an integral part of the clinical staff through participation in Medical Staff meetings, PA/NP meetings, and other departments of SSHWC.
Utilize teaching learning theory with patients and their families to influence patient outcomes.
Identify learning needs of various populations and contribute to the development of educational programs to meet those needs.
Identify system specific problems, which require evaluation and/or change; work with appropriate staff to resolve these issues by participating in performance improvement processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Minimum Education: Completed a nationally accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's degree prepared Program. Current license and be in good standing with the California Licensing Board or current PA certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc., or NP certification through the American Nurses' Association.
Minimum Experience: 3 or more years in an outpatient setting, with children's mental health programs or community-based practices.
Preferred Experience: 7+ years in a mid to large size integrated healthcare delivery system including a focus on significant experience treating children.

The RPF/VMI may perform work verification inspections, verifying applicable inspection and tree work completion and quality.
The RPF/VMI may perform investigation and documentation of tree-related outages and attend outage meetings as requested.
The RPF/VMI may be assigned a variety of VM tags. When assigned perform tracking, field checking, prescribing of work, and notifying of customers associated with non-routine locations. These locations may come from Electric Corrective

Managing EC notifications and cases, performing outage investigations and, when necessary, obtaining permits from public agencies, and documenting work in the VMDSR (or other PG&E assigned databases) using a hand-held computer or an iOS compatible mobile device.
The RPF/VMI shall be required to use computers and associated software, enter data into and process data from hand-held devices, as required.
The RPF/VMI shall perform all necessary duties for emergency response in accordance with all safety requirements, laws and regulations, and applicable labor agreements or an iOS compatible mobile device as directed by the supervisor.
The RPF/VMI shall maintain direct contact with PG&E division personnel, public agencies, and customers as directed by the PG&E representative.

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary represents the wage ACRT Pacific pays for this position per the CBA. The base hourly amount for this role is $39.27 per hour. In addition, you will receive an in lieu of benefits amount of $9.82 per hour that is paid to you for every eligible hour worked. This means you will be compensated at $49.09 per hour in total. In addition to hourly wage payments, union members receive a $50.00 daily subsistence payment for each day worked in excess of 4 hours. Other factors may impact overall total compensation including but not limited to medical, dental, or vision insurance, per-diems, or other region-specific benefits as eligible.
