The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. Manages inventories of CDS and complete crash care inventory as per P&P. Develops tx plans. Notifies physician of pertinent data related to med abnormal labs change to MSE. Verifies accuracy of MD orders. Seeks clarification when needed to ensure proper care. Collaborates with team to interpret the patient and or significant info related to patient present needs. Develops teaching plans and med education. Completes RN triage assessment and daily RN notes. Applies nursing principles to ID problems and resultant nursing care needs once home/discharges. Administers medication according to policy. Access patients side effects and clinical response. Recognizes and takes lead in need for 1:1 and patient interactions. Identifies patients at risk for suicide. Initiates intervention for the suicidal agitated assaultive patient according to established procedures. Applies restraints as necessary and takes lead in documentation notifying MD and ensuring face to face within one hour according to P&P. Delegates appropriately and ensures completion of task for MHW and registrars. Identifies knowledge of criteria to identify victims of abuse and neglect. Coordinates patient flow between WSC and NPC for those patients identified as needing face to face from psychiatrist.
