Job Overview: The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting for data center, fiber optics, and telecommunication projects. This role involves managing a team of project controls professionals and collaborating with stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, estimators, designers, finance, and clients, to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities: Project Controls Planning: Develop and maintain project controls plans and procedures. Process Improvement: Assist in drafting new and improving existing project management processes and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on company project management software. Performance Oversight: Oversee the project's cost controls, change management, risk management, earned value, and scheduling efforts. Project Health: Evaluate project health status and maintain effective communication with project leadership. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Communicate with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to coordinate project activities and inputs. Audit and Review: Review and audit cost, progress, and schedule reports related to project controls. Governance and Progress Control: Establish project milestones, timelines, and critical paths. Monitor project progress against established targets and implement corrective actions when deviations occur. Customer Acceptance: Work closely with customers to define acceptance criteria, ensure project deliverables meet or exceed expectations, and facilitate acceptance testing and signoff. Project Closeout: Lead project closeout reviews. Assessing and sharing success and lessons learned to improve future project management efforts. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, or a related field, PMP preferred. • 5+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years of leadership experience. • 3+ years of experience in project management, project controls, or related roles. • Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and tools, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting. • Highly analytical and strategic with a creative and hands on leadership style. • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills. • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate information clearly. • Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office, including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a strong capability to integrate and utilize these tools effectively for project management and reporting. • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. • Experience in NetSuite preferred. • Must be able to self-lead and communicate effectively to all levels of project team, including management and clients. Job Summary: The Foreman will manage the Data Center Installation teams and partner with the Superintendent in making sure projects are completed safely meeting all customer deadlines, commitments, and quality standards. Essential Job Functions: Accountable for the safety, quality, schedule, and cost on assigned projects. Supervise and implement projects ensuring that each jobsite follows site and company policies, safety protocol and procedures. Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack installations in accordance with industry standards. Read and follow blueprints, instructions, and specifications. Maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures. Serve as main point of contact between the Project Manager, Superintendent, General Foreman, and crew members. Represent the company and interface with customers, developers, property owners, utilities, municipalities, and external stakeholders as required. Responsible for managing up to 5 crew members on a day-to-day basis. Recognize outstanding contributors, build morale, motivate teams, and resolve conflicts knowing when to escalate if needed. Inspect completed work to ensure that all tasks pertaining to the installation were performed to company/customer/Industry standards. Prepare closeout documentation for each phase of the job as completed. Act as a collaborative team player that coordinates and communicates activities with other employees, departments, and management. Develop work around procedures for maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by lack of materials, weather, or scope change, etc. Adhere to all company and site safety policies. Assist other team members in the performance of their duties when requested to promote a team approach to problem solving. Complete assigned tasks, required paperwork, including test results, red lined scope changes, etc. Provide on-the-job training for employees working under your direction and teach methods to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Hold daily meetings before beginning work. This will include Safety Toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis, and the projected work for the day. Maintain company issued equipment including but not limited to vehicle, tools, and equipment specific to job. Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks. Knowledge of cable installation practices, dressing cables, lacing, terminating, etc. Knowledge of basic AC and DC power plants (if applicable). Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, make-up of fiber optic cables, and manufacturer specifications to prevent damage of cables. Knowledge of various manufacturers ISP racks, cabinets, ladder rack, fiber guide and termination panels. Knowledge of cable testing procedures and test equipment. Knowledge of inside plant safety measures. Knowledge of data center security processes and adhere to the measures they put in place. Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given. Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure. Must hold a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
