Responsibilities Assist dentist during procedures as needed and other tasks associated with assisting the daily workflow of the office Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies Prepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures Sterilize dental instruments Place fillings- use restorative materials to place, sculpt & polish fillings, check the bite occlusion, and make sure that the area flosses well Sealants application - applying a thin layer of plastic on teeth to seal them and prevent cavities Fluoride application - applying fluoride gel to the teeth for cavity prevention Coronal polishing - buffing away small, soft plaque deposits from the teeth for additional cleaning Dental charting - creating a chart that lists and describes the condition of a patient's teeth Schedule patient appointments as needed Qualifications Registered as an EFDA by the Ohio State Dental Board Received a state certificate in coronal polishing from the Ohio State Board of Dentistry Current CPR certification (re-certification provided) 2-3 years minimum experience working in a dental practice as an EFDA Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment Working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices Comfortable working with a diverse patient population Compensation: $28.00 per hour Located in the "Greater Northland Area" of Columbus, Northside Family Dental is a general dental office serving the dental needs of a diverse patient base. We will be looking for someone with lived experience of recovery from substance abuse disorder (SUD) who will assist with engagement of pregnant persons and families affected by addiction in the HBCD study by leveraging their recovery peer support and resource navigation skills. Assists with quality control of abstracts by physicians. 15. Coordinates and conducts quality improvement studies as approved by the Cancer Committee in adherence to American College of Surgeons standards. 16. Assists other oncology departments in their quality improvement efforts. 17. Collects diagnostic and treatment information from non-hospital sources and updates abstracts by coding and text. 18. Coordinates functions for adherence to quality measures and benchmarking in for cancer program practice profile reports and rapid quality reporting as dictated by the American College of Surgeons. 19. Communicates with physicians, patients, and other facilities as needed to ensure all data is complete. 20. Releases data to outside facilities and maintains HIPAA log on all data released to outside facilities and registries. 21. Coordinates the cancer conferences in the event of staffing shortage, and attends other meetings as necessary. 22. Performs other clerical functions as needed. 23. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accident to Manager. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential and/or (formerly known as) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) 1 Year experience in cancer registry field or similar area. Experience using computer data base systems. Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. PREFERRED B.S. degree in Health Sciences, Health Information Management, or related discipline. Job Summary

Northside Family Dental is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). Our office serves a diverse patient population in northeast Columbus, and offers a comfortable, family-oriented work environment where patients are not treated like numbers, and the staff is valued like family. Responsibilities
  • Assist dentist during procedures as needed and other tasks associated with assisting the daily workflow of the office
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
  • Prepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures
  • Sterilize dental instruments
  • Place fillings- use restorative materials to place, sculpt & polish fillings, check the bite occlusion, and make sure that the area flosses well
  • Sealants application - applying a thin layer of plastic on teeth to seal them and prevent cavities
  • Fluoride application - applying fluoride gel to the teeth for cavity prevention
  • Coronal polishing - buffing away small, soft plaque deposits from the teeth for additional cleaning
  • Dental charting - creating a chart that lists and describes the condition of a patient's teeth
  • Schedule patient appointments as needed
Qualifications
  • Registered as an EFDA by the Ohio State Dental Board
  • Received a state certificate in coronal polishing from the Ohio State Board of Dentistry
  • Current CPR certification (re-certification provided)
  • 2-3 years minimum experience working in a dental practice as an EFDA
  • Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
  • Comfortable working with a diverse patient population
Compensation: $28.00 per hour
