Duties and Responsibilities * Pitch, produce, and report high quality news and public affairs programming with strict adherence to journalistic standards of integrity, balance, and fairness. * Shoot, edit, write, and direct video content using industry standard digital tools and software. * Exhibit the highest level of editorial independence and integrity, internal to the station, and to the public at large. * Support and work cooperatively with the Montana PBS News and Public Affairs production team, as well as the Education, Digital Engagement and Development departments. * Under limited supervision, manage complex broadcast and digital projects while collaborating with multiple team members. * Transport, operate and maintain video, lighting, and sound equipment to function at its optimum capacity. * Supervise and train student production employees/interns. * Support general production activities of the station and other projects as assigned. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in journalism, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. * Demonstrated experience in broadcast television news as producer/director/reporter covering politics, news and public affairs. * Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and interviews, assess news and make editorial judgments. * Demonstrated on-camera presentation skills including live interviews and live shots. * Demonstrated operational skills of television production equipment, including cameras, audio and lighting gear. * Demonstrated working knowledge of video editing using a variety of industry standard tools and software. * Demonstrated knowledge of broadcasting technical specifications, including video and audio standards. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience working and collaborating with others on a variety of digital and social media platforms. * Demonstrated ability to create visual and audio content employing editorial best practices and aesthetic innovation resulting in programs of the highest technical and creative quality. * Demonstrated experience in effective narrative storytelling using visual and digital media.     KTRV, the E.W. Scripps owned leading news station in Great Falls, Montana, is seeking a talented and dynamic Anchor/Multimedia Journalist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting and fronting your own stories for our 10 pm newscast each night, showcasing the beauty and unique character of the state of Montana and the surrounding region. As an Anchor/Multimedia Journalist, you will be the face and voice of KTRV, delivering engaging and informative news coverage to our viewers. Your primary duties will include: You will serve communities by providing the highest standard of ethical and honest news reporting. WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Gather unbiased content affecting the community. * Write story content, edit and review video, and prepare story items for presentation across multiple platforms. * Work with newsroom employees and personal sources to develop engaging, accurate and ethical newscasts. * Deliver news in a smooth, conversational, approachable, yet authoritative tone. * Anchor multiple reports from breaking news to investigative reporting. * Organize and set up interviews and video shoots. * Take part in station and independent community service events and activities. * Follow the Scripps Journalism Ethics Guidelines. * Engage viewers via social media on a daily basis. * Perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: * Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience * Generally 3+ years anchor/reporting experience in related field preferred WHAT YOU'LL BRING: * Strong broadcast and digital writing skills * Ability to communicate effectively * Basic computer skills required * Strong organizational skills * Knowledge of local, regional and national news * Work well under pressure and at a fast pace * Working knowledge of all social media platforms * Flexible work hours may be required * Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits. * Ability to lift 40 pounds #LI-Onsite #LI-SM2 If you are a current Scripps employee, please do not apply on this site.
