JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Functions as a surgical team member in the operating room working under the direction and supervision of an RN. Assists in providing care to patients of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics to assure quality nursing care.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Operating Room of Surgery provides intraoperative care to surgical and procedural sedation patients. We provide service for the patient population of pediatrics, adolescents, adult and elderly patients. We work with a variety of provider specialties in caring for people going home that day or are being admitted to the hospital.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Current documentation of certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon required.
Option 1
Successful completion of a training program for surgical technologists in a branch of the armed forces of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corp.
Successful completion of 16 hours of continuing education every two (2) years relevant to the medical-surgical practice of surgical technology.
Option 2
Successful completion of a surgical technology education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Certification as a surgical technologist issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or successful completion of the CAAHEP or ABHES educational program within the past twelve months.
Option 3
Candidate has practiced surgical technology at least two (2) years between January 1, 2014 and January 1, 2017 in a hospital, ambulatory surgical center or as an employee of a federal government agency or institution.
Successful completion of 16 hours of continuing education every two (2) years relevant to the medical-surgical practice of surgical technology.
Healthcare Provider BLS required.
Experience or training in computer applications preferred.

Auto Body Collision Repair: Body Technician
The Body Technician is a skilled craftsman with a thorough understanding of how to restore automobiles with light to heavy damage through collision repair. Key responsibilities include assessing exterior damage, repairing manufacturer guidelines, ensuring necessary parts, reshaping panels with minor damage, welding and refinishing techniques as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure repairs adhere to OE standards, DRP part choices, and ADAS requirements for calibrations and scanning, verifying a quality and safe repair.
Complete disassembly of vehicles
Refit new parts such as bumpers, fenders, grills, moldings, and other bolt-on and welded items.
Complete all repairs in a manner in which the repaired areas are restored to the original manufacturer’s specifications, including door, hood and deck alignments, chassis, and frame measurements, and welded on unibody parts.
Check all parts for accuracy before starting the repair and notify the Estimator of any incorrect parts or other discrepancies.
Work efficiently to meet the target delivery date assigned to an RO.
Assume responsibility for all parts assigned to your job(s)
Protect the interior and exterior non-repair areas of all vehicles in repair from additional damage, including dust, dirt, scratches, primer, overspray.
Read and understand every line item of each vehicle’s RO as pertaining to your responsibilities and visually inspect every vehicle to ensure that all the repairs are complete.
Provide guidance, education, and assistance to the assigned apprentice in such a manner that furthers their developmental growth.

The Ship's Electrical Specialist will be committed to following safe working practices and be responsible for the continued operation and maintenance of the ships electronic and control systems on the R/V Taani. This includes systems for ship propulsion, navigation, power management, and overboard handling systems integral to continued ship operations and science missions. R/V Taani is a new and heavily automated vessel requiring significant development of procedures, documentation of issues, and electronic and in-person communication with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
The Electrical Specialist reports to the Chief Engineer on the ship, and they will be required to employ a certain level of autonomy and independence when it comes to their work schedule and task priorities. They will be an on-call day worker who is outside the engineer watch schedule and responsible for maintaining their own workload.
The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences is an internationally recognized leader in the study of the Earth as an integrated system. 55% -Maintains electrical systems related to electronic navigation aids, radio communication, dynamic positioning, PLC's, operational technology sensors, onboard computers and networking, high voltage, engine plant automation, safety and security systems, ships electric motors, and any other systems relying on electricity on the vessel. Key Responsibilities
60%- Stands watch as the roving engineer at sea and daily duty engineer in ports other than Newport on a rotating basis with other engineers. Assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the engineering plant by performing constant checks on pressures and temperatures, fuel consumption, fluid levels, and conditions of operating machinery ensuring safe, economical, and efficient operation. Operates shipboard equipment such as pumps, winches, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, cranes, sewage systems, water makers, piping/tank systems, and boilers.
25%- Assists in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of ship's machinery: hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and ballast systems; air conditioning; refrigeration; fresh water and saltwater firefighting system; and winches, hoists, blocks, boats/motors, etc. Operates lathe and other precision tools. Assists in change-out of equipment, and in the layout and installation of new equipment. Utilizes current Computerized Maintenance Management System ( CMMS ).
5%- Updates computerized maintenance software and other logs/records as needed upon overhaul or repair of ship's machinery and equipment. Keeps inventory records. Maintains stocks of supplies and spare parts for ship's machinery, equipment, piping, and mechanical systems, and hydraulic systems. Assists in fueling and watering the vessel and keeps records of fuel, water, and lubricating oil consumption for the Chief Engineer.
5%- Assists in the installation and at-sea repair of mechanical and electrical scientific equipment as requested.
5%- Actively participates in shipboard drills and emergency training, including training ashore. Maintains firefighting and safety equipment. Fights fires and administers First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation ( CPR ) when required. Other duties as assigned.
