The selected candidate will be assigned as an F-35 Supportable Low Observables (SLO) Field Support Engineer (FSE) at Burlington, VT in support of the F-35 Lightning II Program!
Job Description:
The successful candidate will act as the Northrop Grumman technical interface and on-site company representative to the customer in resolving issues arising from operations, maintenance, modifications and other logistics and engineering support activities involving F-35 aircraft SLO and structure systems within established engineering guidelines. Candidate must be willing to accompany our customer on CONUS and OCONUS Deployment Assignments of varying duration.
In this role, selected candidate will be expected to:
Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.
Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
Provide engineering and aircraft maintenance guidance to military and civilian maintainers and depot technicians and engineers with confidence and authority.
Document maintenance activities, collate data to identify emerging failure trends and provide recommendations to reduce aircraft down time, improve maintenance practices and advise on LO and structures system maintenance tasks.
Have knowledge and background in the field of Radio Frequency (RF) diagnostic and verification techniques for maintaining LO aircraft.
Assist customer with resolving complex aircraft maintenance discrepancies / anomalies. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to sole moderate to complex problems.
Identify technical issues and recommend solutions to support the F-35 engineering disposition process and technical data updates.
Manage, track multiple engineering and logistic support activities, and provide periodic status to customers and program management team.
Provide authorized engineering products to supplement published engineering technical data.
Combine engineering knowledge with real world maintenance experience.
Learn other specialties for total team performance in aircraft build, removal and installation of aircraft components, operational and functional checks, and modification or other maintenance roles.
Conduct training and provide product briefings to customers, vendors, and company representatives.
Support program technical interchange meetings and program plans development relating to problem analysis, engineering dispositions and in-house technical support.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and engage with aircraft maintainers on a regular basis to resolve maintenance issues that would otherwise lead to aircraft downtime.
Work any shift, weekends, overtime and holidays, if necessary, as well as travel on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY's) to support F-35 program requirements.
Principal - Basic Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or a GED and 9 years of military aircraft maintenance experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years related military aircraft maintenance; or a master's degree with 3 years of related military aircraft maintenance.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Systems Engineer supports enterprise class, mission-critical systems and platforms. Responsibilities include capacity monitoring and planning, system troubleshooting, hardware installations and repair, software and operating system installs/upgrades, and automation/scripting of system tasks. The Systems Engineer also ensures efficient and reliable system operation, provides technical support to application teams, monitors emerging technology developments, and identifies opportunities and issues for improvement. Staff must provide support coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Shift coverage and on-call coverage may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain physical and virtual server and storage environments.
* Test, upgrade, and deploy server and storage platforms while ensuring compliance with change management and security protocols.
* Troubleshoot issues related to the enterprise server and storage platforms, identifying and resolving issues to maintain high performance and optimal user experience.
* Act as a subject matter expert for the enterprise server and storage platform services, including administration, maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting.
* Stay informed of related technology, recommending future system enhancements to improve supportability and reliability.
Education:
* A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or other related field; formal technical training or equivalent experience.
Experience:
* 3 or more years of in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience within large-scale, enterprise server and storage environments.
* Hands on experience supporting enterprise hardware
* Windows Server 2022 and 2019, RHEL
* Experience with VMWare ESXi or Nutanix AHV administration
* SAN administration and maintenance
* Logicmonitor and Splunk
* Active Directory administration, including Group Policy, DFS, and Certificate Services
* Scripting in Powershell, Bash, and Python
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs.
* Preferred: Technical IT certifications or experience with related technologies, such as AzureAD/Entra, VMware (VCTA, VCP, VCAP) and Nutanix (NCA, NCP, NPX). Additionally, familiarity with ITIL processes and knowledge of the SAFe / Agile framework are desirable.
