THE BIG PICTURE
Northwest Community Church (*********************************** is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to preach the Word of God and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. We are praying for a man who models a strong walk with Christ, has a clear calling to pastoral ministry and will lead our congregation in lifting up Jesus and loving each other. We desire him to have strong pulpit skills in exegetical and expository preaching and to be able to communicate the Bible clearly and practically. His primary responsibilities include providing spiritual leadership to the church through preaching, teaching, offering pastoral care and making visits as needed (see full for more details). A strong candidate should have a bachelor's degree or above from a Bible college or theological seminary. At least five years of previous experience in a lead pastor role is preferred.

Who We Are
Affiliated with the Berean Fellowship of Churches, Northwest Community Church was founded in 1988 with a passion for reaching northwest Lancaster County (Nebraska) and the surrounding area with the Gospel of Christ while making disciples through Biblical instruction.
Our current staff includes a part-time Executive Pastor, a full-time Youth Pastor and a secretary.
Nearly 90 families call NCC home. With just under 100 members, the church has an average Sunday morning attendance of 155 with nearly 100 attending Sunday school on a weekly basis.
NCC has a strong reputation for serving children and youth in the community. Our Wednesday after school children's ministry averages 130 students while our Wednesday night youth ministry reaches more than 80 students on a weekly basis.
NCC has active women's and men's ministries. We also have a number of growth groups that meet regularly.
NCC supports eight missionary families that are boldly sharing God's truth globally and domestically.
Where We Are
The village of Malcolm, located about 10 miles northwest of Nebraska's capital city has a population of 480. The village is surrounded by farms and acreages and the Branched Oak Lake state recreation area just three miles to the north. As a bedroom community to Lincoln, most of Malcolm's residents, if not farmers or employees of the school district, commute to Lincoln for work. The Pre-K through high school enrollment of Malcolm Public Schools is around 640 students. The average class size is between 50-55 students.

Responsibilities Preaching
Prepare and deliver dynamic, biblically sound, and engaging exegetical sermons that incorporate culture and context with practical applications
Engage and cultivate a team of internal and external preachers and teachers
Develop an annual preaching calendar, utilizing the preaching team
Leadership
Mentor and develop staff and elders, providing spiritual guidance, coaching, and growth opportunities
Develop and foster healthy, dynamic relationships with the staff
Collaborate with the Executive Pastor to understand the operational needs of Reach Church
Promote and support the ministries of Reach Church, including Central School of Ministry, Upper Room Christian Counseling, and the Reach Church Foundation
Vision
Seek the Lord's guidance in developing a vision for life and ministry
Communicate the vision and encourage others to embody and live it out
Develop and implement processes and practices to carry out the vision of Reach Church
Pastoral
Demonstrate the heart of a shepherd by actively guiding, loving, and nurturing our community
Speak the truth in love, willing to have difficult conversations for the benefit of others and the glory of God
Practice spiritual disciplines regularly, including prayer, Bible reading, tithing, fasting, and confession
Rely on and surrender to the Holy Spirit in all things
Qualifications
Relevant education, MDiv preferred (or equivalent)
10-plus years of ministry experience in a growing, active church, preferably with a weekly attendance of 500 or more
Experience in leading a dynamic staff and executive-level leaders

Associate Pastor

The Associate Pastor will serve in this capacity for 2-3 years (depending on the hire date) and then transition to the role of Senior Pastor. During this initial transition period, the Associate Pastor will: Develop and sustain a ministry to young parents.
Share preaching duties with the Senior Pastor on a regularly scheduled basis.
Be involved in one or more of the teaching ministries of the church.
Engage in a visitation ministry, endeavoring to visit each family unit of the church.
Help to develop an evangelistic outreach program to the community.
Assist the Senior Pastor with communion, marriage ceremonies, funerals, etc.
The Associate Pastor is responsible directly to the Senior Pastor and Elder Board.

Requirements
Must have a seminary degree, or at least within the last year of obtaining a degree.
It is not necessary to be ordained at this point, but would need to prior to becoming senior pastor.
Would need to be in line with our statement of faith and compatible with the Senior Pastor and elders.
Have a heart for rural ministry.
Ministry experience is preferred.
The responsibility of the Associate Pastor should be first to God, second to his family (if married), and third to the church. He should guard his own spiritual life as he pursues personal holiness and godliness. He shall honor his commitments to his family and conduct all his affairs in an upright manner (See 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1). His family shall demonstrate support for his ministry.
