Summary:
This position operates computed tomography scanners for a variety of procedures following directives of staff radiologists. He/ She is responsible for explaining procedures to the patients, administering contrast media as requested, and scheduling patients in an organized manner. All duties performed per approved protocol.
Responsibilities And Duties:
Obtains patient clinical history for procedure.
Reviews lab values and screens patient for allergies to determine contraindications to contrast media.
Administers oral and IV contrast media
Operates CT scanners for variety of procedures.
Coordinates workload with other clinical sections and departments.
Monitors quality in patient care functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT-DOH - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists License from Ohio Department of Health - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Identifies each patient and reviews each physician order for consistence of exam ordered with clinical diagnosis and demographic information. Follows established MRI scan protocols and works with radiologist to create new protocols
Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, physicians and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through careful history, allergy and renal function documentation, reconciling medications with the supervising physician, screening for ferromagnetic materials, proper use of support/immobilization devices and proper transport/transfer technique with regard given to the age of the patient.
Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examinations to interpreting physician, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following procedure.
Assists in the administration and administers contrast to render specific organs or systems opaque. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, ensures proper identification on all images.
Demonstrates and exhibits knowledge of MRI safety practices and Is able to provide MRI safety information to all individuals.

Schedules same day add-on appointments and maintains outpatient schedule as much as possible, while prioritizing emergency exams.

Job Summary MRI Technologist completes and coordinates MRI examinations to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and the workflow management of the department, with special attention to MRI safety requirements. Essential Functions
Identifies each patient and reviews each physician order for consistence of exam ordered with clinical diagnosis and demographic information. Verbalizes patient identification utilizing patient name and D.O.B. in accordance with hospital and departmental policies. Records pertinent data at all times.
Follows established MRI scan protocols and works with radiologist to create new protocols
Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, physicians and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through careful history, allergy and renal function documentation, reconciling medications with the supervising physician, screening for ferromagnetic materials, proper use of support/immobilization devices and proper transport/transfer technique with regard given to the age of the patient.
Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examinations to interpreting physician, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following procedure.
Assists in the administration and administers contrast to render specific organs or systems opaque. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, ensures proper identification on all images.
Demonstrates and exhibits knowledge of MRI safety practices and Is able to provide MRI safety information to all individuals.
Maintains confidentiality of all hospital related information.
Schedules same day add-on appointments and maintains outpatient schedule as much as possible, while prioritizing emergency exams.
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department team to facilitate the ability to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Participates in the orientation and training of new employees and health care professionals.
Provides direct training and supervision to student technologist.
