The individual in this position will play a key role in growing and strengthening SBWCN's presence as a resource for the Santa Barbara community and beyond. The Education and Communications Coordinator will Develop and deliver educational programs, both in-person and online, and coordinate outreach events. Duties and Responsibilities: The position has multiple functions and responsibilities, as summarized below. Nonprofit Agency Management:

Technical Assistance and Advocacy:
· Provide education, information and technical assistance concerning affordable housing development, financing, policies and strategies to affordable housing developers, community groups, local governments, and the public.
· Represent the agency at the local, state and national level. Maintain good relationships with elected officials and staff, developers, financial institutions, community groups and others.
Minimum Qualifications:
· College or Graduate degree in community development, real estate, finance, urban planning, economics, public administration or a related field or equivalent work experience.
· Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in real estate finance, affordable housing development, foundation capital development, or related field. 10 years preferred.
· Five to ten years of experience in a relevant leadership/management role in a nonprofit, private or government agency. Management experience with a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and/or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit housing development corporation preferred.
· Knowledge of and experience with the housing project development and approval process, affordable housing finance programs, and California housing laws.
· Five or more years of experience in financial management successfully developing, executing, and reporting operating budgets in an organization with multiple funding sources.
· Competency in strategic planning, financial analysis, and negotiation.
· Experience working with Boards of Directors to actualize an agency's goals and programs.
· Strong computer proficiency specifically within Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook.
· Ability to drive to and for work, a valid Driver's license and current automobile insurance preferred.

Areas we need help are:
*Answering phones, invoicing and communicating with clients
*Caring for hives in clients backyards
*Working in commercial apiary caring for the bees, pollinating crops and making honey
*Removing bees alive from unwanted locations and moving them to where they are wanted
*General support of operations, building equipment, painting, weeding, cleaning vehicles, assisting anywhere needed.
We work long hours during long weeks out in the weather doing difficult work. Most people can not handle this type of work but those who can would not imagine doing anything else.
We are constantly surrounded by stinging insects so if you are afraid of being stung in the face please do not apply.
I could hire 10 people and still not get everything done so we are willing to be flexible with hours, as long as consistent. We are willing to hire various skill levels for different job duties. Administrative Support: Manage project documentation, schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes to keep the team organized and informed.
Project Coordination: Assist in planning, executing, and closing projects by tracking timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between project teams, stakeholders, and external parties, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Data Management: Maintain accurate project data in our project management information system (PMIS) and generate reports to support decision-making.
Process Improvement: Participate in developing and implementing new tools and techniques to improve project management processes and standards.
Training and Development: Support the organization of training sessions on project management methodologies and assist in onboarding new team members.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-2 years of experience in an administrative or project coordination role, ideally within a healthcare or project management office setting.

Position Summary:
Work closely with senior Photonic Systems Engineers to evaluate photonic integrated circuit (PIC) hardware in the test lab gathering system-level data that supports customer adoption of our Silicon Photonics platform. This is a paid internship expected from June 2025 through August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and modify system level photonic test stations including PIC evaluation boards, optical spectrum
analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other high-end test equipment
Write Python code to execute and automate test programs
Collect and analyze data, create test reports, and provide clear conclusions
Qualifications:
Pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
Basic software coding experience
Basic experience operating lab equipment
Self-starting and independent but able to collaborate with team members
