Duties:
* Perform all duties described in standard operating procedures accurately and efficiently.
* Effectively manage three bed (automated and manual) collections.
* Performs all aspects of registration of whole blood and double red cell, and red cell plasma donors, donor screening, safety procedures & screening special procedures including Autologous, Directed and Therapeutic donations.
* Performs all aspects of medical history, vein puncture procedure and donor monitoring.
* Accurately perform all aspects of automated 2RBC procedures and RBC/Plasma procedures in conjunction with whole blood donations.
* Quickly and competently responds to any donor reaction.
* Completes donor collection (automated and manual) paperwork accurately.
* Troubleshoot Automated collections equipment/procedures.
* Performs daily, weekly, monthly and PRN maintenance on apheresis equipment.
* Performs all a.m. and p.m. duties of the Apheresis department.
* Treats donors and other staff in a friendly professional manner.
* Effectively use Vista Collection System.
* Effectively use DoVac Elite Computer System.
* Participates in donor recruitment and scheduling.
* Dependable and flexible with the ability to occasionally work mobile blood drives that require travel.
* Able to meet irregular work hours, including weekends.
* Valid MS driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
* Ensures management has current telephone contact information in order to reach you.
* Maintains current CPR/ AED certification.
* Performs CPR as needed.

**Whole Blood Processor**
**Summary:**
Responsible for day-to-day tasks in the whole blood donor center process. Responsibilities could include processing a potential blood donor through registration and donor suitability verification and also processing a potential blood donor through various screening tests that determine donor suitability. Other responsibilities could include duties involved with the blood collection process. Additionally, responsibilities could include the blood centrifuge process, component preparation and the transfer of blood products and samples to proper storage as well as shipping and receiving duties which include packing and shipping blood, blood components, and samples on a daily basis.

**Donor registration**

DUTIES
* Oversees all look back procedures, product investigations and Hold/PDIR investigations.
* Maintains liaison with hospital laboratories by telephone communication and/or written communication.
* Serves as a role model and assists in mentoring new associates as well as other team members.
* Works closely with other Supervisory/Management staff within Manufacturing and Distribution departments to ensure the following are performed satisfactory, within appropriate time constraints and within appropriate FDA and regulatory guidelines: Training/Retraining, SOP review/updates, departmental validations, new equipment implementation, and compliance audit responses and corrections.
* Review and produce final written report for hospital.
* Administer patient antibody letters; composition of rough draft and final copies.
* Direct investigation of pending test results, data entry/verification of test results.
* Assists with all mandatory and voluntary inspections of the blood center: AABB and plasma fractionators.
* Maintains the Standard Operating Procedure manual for the laboratory.
* Reviews lab records to ensure adherence to federal regulations.
* Position may require daily administrative duties when other staff is unavailable
* Schedules, instructs and evaluates students rotating through the production laboratory to include MLT or MT students and pathology residents.
* Prepares and administers annual budgets for Technical Lab. Reviews and approves invoices.
* Directs the maintenance of quality control programs in the laboratory.
* Maintains regular attendance during normal office hours. Requires flexibility and availability to work whatever hours are needed and to travel as needed to achieve objectives at all times.
* Promotes MBS through activities and professional organizations and other means of public relations.
* Able to work and lead by example in a fast-paced environment while focused on timely, correct results every time.
* Willingness to serve on-call as needed, and to work a flexible schedule in order to meet patient needs.
* Experience in supervising and managing personnel.

* Bachelor's degree (B. A. /B.S.) from Four year College or university; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Must be detail-oriented and organized with all paperwork.
* Perform transfusion service consultation. This may include antibody identification with the provision of compatible units.

* Assist with all aspects of shipping recovered plasma to commercial vendors.
