General Purpose:
Under direction from the Director of Security, provide security for the Milwaukee Art Museum by implementing security policies and procedures related to the protection of art, the security of museum facilities, and the safety and protection of staff and visitors.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
High School graduate, Associates Degree preferred.
1-year minimum, 3 years preferred experience in protective, safety, and/or security work.
Demonstrated customer service skills. Enthusiastically welcome, assist, and interact with museum visitors.
Ability to stand for extensive periods of time.
Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information.
Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make immediate decisions related to enforcement of regulations.
Experience monitoring various types of alarms systems, CCTV and/or card access systems is desirable.
Ability to exercise excellent judgment by carrying out established policies and procedures for security and safety of people, artwork and Museum facilities in a complete, consistent and timely manner.
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to change in a dynamically moving event-driven environment.
Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and help resolve customer complaints.
Ability to adhere to Museum policies and support management decisions in a positive, professional manner.
Ability to work overtime, varying shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft software, i.e. word, excel, power point, outlook.
Ability to successfully complete department required training.
Ability to investigate and file appropriate written documentation of findings.
Ability to learn and proficiently operate all department software, physical and technical applications and emergency response equipment.
License or Certification:
Successfully complete all phases of museum's Field Training Program.
Previous First Aid/CPR/AED certification desired.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide security for galleries, public spaces, meeting rooms, offices, storage areas, traffic corridors, and physical plants. Regulate and control traffic through galleries, public spaces, as well as vehicular traffic on Art Museum Drive and the underground garage. Ensure the smooth operation of special events, previews and receptions. Observe artwork for change of any kind; report problems to supervisor immediately.
Provide professional, polite, and courteous services to guests and clients while helping to ensure their safety and enjoyment while visiting the museum.
Enthusiastically welcome and interact with visitors to our campus. Tactfully inform visitors of rules, regulations, and proper conduct while in the museum; correct or report problems as appropriate. Cooperate with various internal departments to learn and convey Museum information to enhance visitor's experience.
Maintain knowledge of current policies, procedures and security system operations in order to correctly implement actions for protection of artwork, security of facilities, and the safety and protection of Museum staff and visitors.
Decisively respond to assigned calls for service, alarms, emergent situations and critical incidents. Determine appropriate action and remedy the situation in accordance with established training/standards.
Enhance campus safety by expressing ownership of our property and its image: monitor and report lighting and building maintenance issues; remove litter; identify and / or remove vandalism.
Upon assignment, lead and/or provide support for investigative matters. Apply specialized skills and training inmanaging of incidents. File incident reports.
Act as a first responder to all fire and life safety related incidents. Ensure affected areas are secure pending the arrival of emergency services and control access until relieved.
Participate in special event security and other unique assignments as directed.
Perform a number of community service functions including, but not limited to, (a) serve as an informational and public service resource for visitors, (b) ensure facilities are accessed and secured at appropriate times (c) conduct inspections and submit reports regarding risk and safety hazards, damage to facilities and museum cultural artifacts.
Properly maintain department issued equipment and uniforms.
Perform other duties as assigned.

* Perform foot patrol in campus facilities and on campus grounds for general purposes of crime prevention and security; provide protection of university students, employees, guests and property.
* Provide Security for Bright Star Performances in the Fine Arts Center.
* Respond to and follow up on complaints, disturbances, and or requests to prevent potentially dangerous situations from occurring on campus property.
* Investigate incidents and violations, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and write incident reports.
* Identify hazards to safety and security; report them to the Director of Campus Safety.
* Monitor surveillance system, fire alarm system, and other emergency notification systems.
* Assist in preparing administrative and operational reports and maintaining files of no contact, no trespassing, protection and restraining orders.
* Act as a liaison to outside emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
* Assist with maintaining organized and effective security operations in the Campus Safety Office.
* Conduct and document routine inspections of AEDs, Code Blue emergency phones, elevator emergency phones, fire extinguishers, etc.
* Carry out other responsibilities as delegated or assigned.
* Will be required to work holidays and cover vacations as needed.
General Requirements/Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent and prior experience in security field required. Must possess CPR/AED certifications at time of appointment or the ability to obtain such certifications within 6 months of appointment and maintain such certification for the duration of employment. * Check for maintenance problems and safety/security concerns while completing patrols
* Complete duty reports, incident reports, and injury reports as needed

The Police Officer is a sworn law enforcement position under the limited direction of the Sergeant or Director/Chief. Police Officers must be capable of providing a full range of law enforcement services. They enforce laws, investigate complaints, investigate incidents that may have an impact on the University, maintain order, assist people, identify criminal activity, apprehend and arrest offenders, identify the source of problems in the community and work with the community to resolve issues.

Responsibilities
40% A. The police officer is the principal agent responsible for carrying out the functions of the University Police Department. These functions include protection of life and property, preservation of peace and good order and the furnishing of various services to achieve and maintain the goals of the department.
* Perform vehicle patrol, foot patrol and other means of patrol as assigned.
* Provide crowd control duties at mass population events such as sporting events, concerts, protests, and appearances by visiting dignitaries.

10% C. Ensure the safe and orderly flow of traffic on all University of Wisconsin roadways; enforce UW System Codes 18.06 and Wisconsin traffic laws regulating motor vehicles and their equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as the first line of contact with NWTC students, staff, and members of the general public. Security officers respond to calls for service that may include complex and stressful situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Student security Officer will work under the direction of and take daily assignments from the Security Supervisor and/or Security Manager.
The Student Security Officer will receive their training from the Security Supervisor, Security Manager or his/her designee
The daily job assignments will vary, but generally the security officer will be required to:
Lock and unlock office and classroom doors as scheduled
Patrol the interior and exterior campus hallways and parking lots
Assist in providing basic first aid when needed
Respond to medical calls/fire alarms/vehicle lockouts or jump starts
Fill out Incident/Injury reports as needed
Navigate the camera monitoring system
Any other calls for service as requested
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent
Preferences given to applicant is currently enrolled at NWTC in the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Corrections/Advocacy Program
Ability to handle emergency and non-emergency situations in an efficient manner.

Security Officers ensure safety on the campus while providing security, protection and related services to the Edgewood College community.
Responsibilities:
As a custodial worker, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* The Security Department promotes the safety and security of persons, property and buildings on the Edgewood College campus. This includes enforcement of policies, rules and regulations of the college, as well as federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Security Officers are responsible for identifying, enforcing and investigating incidents on the campus, enforcing campus parking regulations and ticketing violators. They conduct investigations of student conduct complaints, and other assigned cases. Exercising proper discretion and judgement.
* Security Officers will work effectively with the office of Residence Life, faculty, staff members, and law enforcement personnel of other jurisdictions to ensure effective and appropriate mitigation of incidents. crimes and crisis.
* Security Officers will work collaboratively with the office of Residence Life to provide a student-centered approach to promoting a safe and orderly environment consistent with the needs of institutions of higher education in residential areas.
* Other duties include but are not limited to, patrol procedures requiring considerable physical effort under varying climatic conditions, exposure to accidents or occupational hazards that may result in loss of life; assist law enforcement officers and agencies; complete forms and enter required reports regarding activities into appropriate records management systems as well as timely and effective communication in the form of written documentation and/or verbal and electronic communication, required reporting to officials at Edgewood College Security and Residence Life.

C. Performance of technical aspects of law enforcement.
C1. Maintain proficiency and meet department standards in areas of CPR/Basic Life Support, firearms, defensive tactics, physical fitness and emergency vehicle operation.
C2. Attend classes and in-service training to maintain and enhance current law enforcement knowledge and skills.
C3. Attend specialized classes to obtain skills and training.
D. Performance or coordination of specialty functions for the department.
D1. Satisfactorily perform specialty functions, which are assigned, to support department operations and mission. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events. In addition, must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery. May be required to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
* Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, controls, and/or heavy equipment and machinery. Capability to push, pull, and/or maneuver equipment as needed.

Work Schedule:
This is a full time 1.0 FTE position. Scheduled hours are between 11:00 pm - 7:00 am. Rotating days off and weekends required. Opportunity for 12 hour shifts after training. Schedules are completed 6 months at a time. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
Pay:
For evening hours - after 3:00 pm you will earn an additional $3.00/hr.
For night hours - after 11:00 pm you will earn an additional $4.00/hr.
On Saturday and Sunday, you will earn an additional $3.25/hr.

We are seeking a Senior Security Officer to:
Act as an Officer in Charge and respond to leaders across UW Health by overseeing day to day operations of the shift in the absence of a Supervisor.
Properly document daily activities and write detailed and at times lengthy incident reports using computer software programs.
Serve as a positive example and provide consistent training, coaching, and evaluation of new officers as part of the department's field training program.
Monitor and operate access control systems, security camera systems, intercoms, two-way radios, telephones, and alarm systems.

High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Work Experience
18 months UW Health Security Officer or comparable experience. Required
Licenses & Certifications
Valid driver's license in the person's state of residence.
• Must be 21 years of age or have three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Patient/Visitor Vehicle or UW Health Vehicle other than a golf cart or utility terrain vehicle.
