Duties/Responsibilities:
Attend individualized education program (IEP) meetings and other school meetings (ETR, 504, FBA) at the request of families or staff members.
Host information sessions for families and staff members.
Host Monthly Support Group.
Manage and update the website of resources and other social media.
Build collaborative relationships with local school districts and community agencies.
Connect families, schools, and communities by providing links to local services and organizations that support students with disabilities.
Provide information about federal, state, and local special education laws and policies.
Share updated information about special education, such as timelines and deadlines, eligibility processes, informed consent, prior written notice, and other requirements.
Promote Parent Mentor services within the community.
Maintain Confidentiality.
Data Collection and Reporting to Ohio State University, Ohio Department of Education & Workforce, Medina County ESC, and local school districts as requested.
Attend Statewide Parent Mentor Conference, Regional Parent Mentor Meetings, and other required training.
Other Duties:
Performs any additional duties determined by the administration of the Educational Service Center of Medina County as appropriate for the delivery of the service continuum.
Examines, along with the administration, additional duties in the context of priorities, time constraints, and impact on other student services.
Required Training:
All online training currently required by the ESC.
Any training/professional development mandated by the ESCMC, ODE, USDOE, ODH, ORC, OHSA, and/or as needed to maintain appropriate certification/licensure for the position held.

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources they need. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. All of our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.
We are looking for a certified peer supporter or an individual who is in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder or substance use with mental health, who is eligible to work toward becoming a certified peer supporter. Lived experience with the child welfare system, either as a parent or as a child is also preferred. Experience working with resources in Pickaway County is preferred.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.26 per hour based on experience, education, and/or licensure.
Essential Functions:
Participates as an active member of the Ohio START team.
Works jointly with the Ohio START case worker and behavioral health provider to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of intensive wrap-around services to the START families on the caseload and to assist with the safety of the child(ren).
Participates in initial meetings, weekly status meetings, and Family Team Meetings to review families' progress.
Providing continual exploration of family s needs to empower the family to take ownership over their long-term successes and the safety of the child(ren);
Supporting the parent(s) in achieving personal independence;
Connecting START families to community resources;
Teaching families skills to effectively navigate the child welfare system;
Assisting families with identifying and accessing natural support systems in the community;
Promoting coordination and linkage among providers within local community
Coordinating or providing assistance in crisis interventions and stabilization of families
Assisting families to develop empowerment skills through promoting self-advocacy
Identify barriers (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and developing strategies to overcome those barriers
Providing input on court forms, as needed;
Providing input on development of the case plan and child safety; and
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Have earned a minimum education level of GED.
Lived experience with child welfare servicers as a parent or child.
Minimum 3 years quality recovery from Substance Use Disorder.
Familiarity of community health & human service systems.
Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression.
Can effectively operate in an Internet-based, electronic health record (EHR) and other data environments.
Demonstrate long term recovery (at least 2 years is required, three years is preferred) from a SUD.
Demonstrate no ongoing criminal activity.
Have lived experience with the child welfare system either as a parent or child, with the case closed at least one year or if do not have direct CPS experience, be able to describe how your substance use affected your children and family.
Maintain a current driver s license.

Mentor Teachers of Record will help to develop corps members in the knowledge, skills, and judgment they will need to become ambitious beginning teacher leaders who build strong relationships with students and lead them to meaningful outcomes.
A Mentor Teacher of Record provides direct coaching, feedback, and thought partnership to a group of corps members and utilizes a variety of coaching strategies - including live coaching, lesson planning support, and observation and debriefing - to ensure corps members plan for and deliver rigorous instruction; facilitate a positive, productive, and equitable classroom culture and environment; implement Culturally Responsive Pedagogy; and build strong relationships with students and other educators. The Mentor Teacher may also facilitate pre-scripted learning experiences to help Corps Members synthesize their learning. Candidates for this role have prior coaching experience of adult learners. Mentor Teachers work with the program leader or coach in their region and work in person at a regional Practicum summer school.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Program Statement: The Mentoring Program provides mentoring services to a target population of male and female youths, ages 11-17, of all races, who reside in Lorain County. Mentors spend 4 hours per week with each individual youth participating in fun activities, educational opportunities, attending community events, and more.

Overview: A Family Peer Mentor (FPM) provides peer support to help families involved with Child welfare where substance abuse is the primary risk factor.
