As the Operational Excellence Director, Transactional Processes, you will:
* Guide, deploy, and execute the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), our "one best way" methodology and tools that support our holistic operational excellence program
* Build and implement the roadmap for your assigned function(s) platform to deploy and evolve MPS to reflect organizational needs and external best practices to accelerate continuous improvement and common operating system adoption.
* Contribute to the overall Global Operations & Supply Chain organizational goals by identifying organizational needs required to achieve strategic plans. Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence, and programmatic savings
* Facilitate strategic kaizen events with leadership teams
* Partner, develop, govern, and deliver sustained quantitative and qualitative results of Operational excellence effectiveness within global function(s).
Must Have:
* Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, business operations, and/or operational excellence structures (TPM, DBS, etc.) or and advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing, business operations, and/or operational excellence structures.
* Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Nice to Have:
* Proficient and experienced in coaching and leading quantitative and qualitative assessments of OpEx effectiveness across functions
* Strong change management, coaching, and mentoring competency
* Ability to influence change without direct authority
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, including leading training courses in-person or virtually, with the ability to convey and communicate complex concepts simply and clearly
* Practical experience in applying operational excellence methods in transactional environments with proven process improvement and cost savings success.
* Project management skills with good time management, client relationship management, conflict resolution, training facilitation, and administrative skills
* Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, and financial acumen with proven knowledge and experience integrating continuous improvement
* Ability to travel 50% to 75%, varying based on initiatives.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Who you are
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Advanced Clinical/Science Degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA etc.). BSN with extensive field medical experience with a pharmaceutical company
* Minimum of 5 years related work experience (clinical, managed care, or industry experience)
* Prior experience as a field medical science liaison
* Proficiency in GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ICH (International Conference on Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use)
* Relevant therapeutic area knowledge, comprehensive understanding of product and safety profiles, and familiarity with managed care, health economics, reimbursement, and legal and regulatory landscape in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.

Technical Support:
Represents Medtronic during procedures and implants of products to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance.
Receives technical inquiries by telephone. Research solutions to questions or problems (e.g. product selection issues, technical questions about Medtronic CRDN products when appropriate, etc.)
Educational Support
Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters relating to our products and pacing through conducting and/or coordinating:
1. One-on-one training sessions
2. In-service education programs
3. Seminars and/or outside symposiums
Assist DM, CSM and in-house training department in educating/training new Clinical Specialists and sales representatives.
Provide training and resources for hospital staff to enable them to conduct training for their personnel (“train the trainer”).
Sales Support:
During/following cases:
Complete necessary documentation and phone calls (customer service).
Update sales representatives concerning cases. Immediately notifies representatives regarding issues or problems requiring follow-up.
Serves as effective Medtronic representative to physicians and support staff regarding Medtronic products, service, and support.
Maintain current knowledge regarding CRDN, Medtronic programs, products and services and competitive products.
Maintains open, effective communication with all district personnel, customers, and other Medtronic employees
Performs other related duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications:

Primary Function of the Position
The New Product Verification Department is devoted to assuring safe, reliable, and effective products that exceed patient, surgeon, and hospital expectations. The department plays a vital role in product and process quality, in new product development and production, and in the quality of da Vinci and Ion robotic product lines, including diagnostic systems, endoscopic instrumentation, and supporting accessories. The Senior Test Engineer will work with a team of dedicated people within a product development team to assure the quality of new designs, to identify issues related to new designs and processes, and to work with other Test Engineers to develop harmonized test methods.
Essential Job Duties
Test Protocol Development, Execution & Reporting
* Develops high level test plans for instrument, accessories, endoluminal, and vision projects
* Generates and takes ownership of test protocols for Design Verification and Life/ Reliability tests
* Develops clinically relevant test methods ensure design requirements are sufficiently verified by collaborating with appropriate cross functional partners
* Executes test protocols for clinically-based surgical simulation and automated testing utilizing da Vinci surgical system, Ion Systems and/or other test equipment

* Experience using tools and measuring equipment (Force Gauge, Calipers, Instron, Oscilloscopes etc.).

A Day in the Life
Sr. Global Logistics Manager
This position will lead logistics initiatives and help ensure all Deliver transformation standards are deployed across manufacturing sites. This includes proactively developing and deploying best practices and driving continuous improvement. This role will lead large scale cost savings projects, drive efficiencies, and work closely with senior leadership across manufacturing sites and the global deliver team to address logistics needs.
Lead network changes that involve the opening and closure of raw material warehouses and manufacturing cross docks.
Lead KPI reviews with 3PL providers and drive continuous improvement.
Develop and prioritize opportunities and action plans to improve service, and reduce costs across the network.
Partner with finance to review freight spend, potential risks, potential upside and lead projects to reduce variance vs Annual Operating Plan.
Collaborate with manufacturing sites and cross docks to drive process standardization and deploy best practices.
Uncover cost savings opportunities to achieve 5-6% YoY cost.
Work with the Deliver COE to achieve service, sustainability, and cost targets.
Deploy transportation acumen/capability/knowledge management/training within manufacturing sites.
Drive cross-functional initiatives and collaboration.
Lead contingency planning and risk management activities as needed.
Qualifications - External
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have
Bilingual Spanish-English
Experience working in multi-national companies with diverse culture, matrix organization and regional led responsibilities.
Experience in Medical Device or Life Science industry
Strong transportation and distribution acumen, including knowledge of transportation planning, TMS, and cross dock operations.
Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc).
Microsoft Office Suite User
Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
Travel
Adhoc travel to Medtronic locations as business needs require

The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
