Purpose :The Medical Transcriptionist transcribes, edits and enters records dictated by providers into the EMR. The Medical Transcriptionist should have a high-understanding of medical terminology and understanding of the Book of Style Medical Transcription standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Listen to the recorded dictation of the provider and transcribe a completed medical report.
Translate medical abbreviations into appropriate form. Ensure that Book of Style standards for Transcription are met.
Follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements.
Conduct QA of finished transcribed reports from the vendor. This includes listening to the entire recording and making the appropriate corrections, querying the provider when necessary.
