Our Dispatchers are responsible for answering, evaluating, and triaging all transport requests and deploying the most appropriate resources. We strive for excellence, and as such, expect every EMS Dispatcher to provide each caller with exemplary customer service.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMS DISPATCHERS:
Possession of an EMT, EMD, or ETC certification or the ability to attain one (Required)
Availability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (Required)
One (1) year of direct customer service experience (Preferred)
Previous work experience in a communications center or as an EMS dispatcher (Preferred)
Previous work experience as an EMT, Paramedic, CNA, or LVN (Preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
DISPATCHER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external customers
Ability to strategically review, plan, and deploy resources
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor
Take direction, work independently, and as part of a group
Promptly answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming requests for service while communicating effectively with callers
Familiarity with company service areas and medical facilities
Working knowledge of service area geography, roadways, and traffic patterns
Ensure compliance with all company and customer policies and procedures as they pertain to the coordination of patient transport
Professionally “control” difficult interactions and effectively direct the flow of the conversation
Proficiency with computer operations, word processing, email, and spreadsheet software programs
Operate a multi-line phone system
Document all phone and radio transactions using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) program
Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned by management or the leadership team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit for an extended period of time
Requires frequent, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, reaching, and grasping
Must be able to hear and communicate clearly to perform job duties in-person and over the telephone
Adequate vision is required in order to read information from printed sources and computer screens

Compensation: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
