This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Responsibilities * Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam * Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients * Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner * Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure * Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing * Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions * Respond to all lab messages and call back requests * Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations * Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure * Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis * Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures * Maintain complete and accurate documentation * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
