Review current medication and review patient allergies. Record all of the above in the patient's chart, and sign. Assist physicians and physician assistants with examinations as necessary. Lift patients on and off exam tables and in and out of wheelchairs. Set up procedures to be done, i.e., remove lesions, suture wounds, cast fractures, dress burns. Explain procedures to patients and instruct on follow-up care. Requirements Role and Responsibilities: Provide world-class customer care while adhering to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Perform venipuncture and additional phlebotomy procedures in accordance with SOPs. Collaborate with Leadership and colleagues to maintain efficient donor flow through the donation process from Screening through Disconnect. Collaborate with Medical on all Donor Adverse Events to ensure adherence to all applicable SOPs. Demonstrate our Core Values when interfacing with colleagues, donors, vendors, and all visitors to the center. Ability to maintain professionalism in a highly dynamic environment. Maintain accurate, complete, and concurrent documentation. Work well with others, sometimes in stressful situations. Add to and maintain a positive team atmosphere and work culture. Qualifications and Education: High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred but not necessary Comfortable handling needles and other donation machine equipment Must be comfortable seeing and working with blood and blood components Exceptional customer service and genuine care for donors Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for up to three hours at a time. Ability to occasionally pull, lift, and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to bend, stoop or kneel. Requires high level of manual dexterity. Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens, as well as occasional extreme temperatures (-40 C freezer for short periods) Wear provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in adherence to SOPs.
