The qualifications, documented experience, and interests of the selected candidate will determine appointment rank. Position responsibilities include a primary commitment to service and teaching. The department has a busy and expanding biopsy service with submissions from the ISU Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC) as well as practicing veterinarians in the surrounding region. The department provides a complete necropsy service for the wide range of species submitted to the ISU small and large animal clinics. These necropsy cases provide material for instructing senior veterinary students and pathology residents in necropsy techniques and lesion interpretation. The department has a strong commitment to teaching and the successful candidate is expected to actively participate in the teaching mission of the department, which offers courses in anatomic pathology and pathology-related disciplines to undergraduate, professional (DVM), and graduate students.
