General Purpose

Responsibilities

• Develop studies of limited scope and prepare data for cost estimations and analyses.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Reporting Directly to the Engineering Project Lead, the Designer is responsible for Performing design work under the supervision of a Sr. Designer, Design Lead and/or Project Lead. Produce manufacturing / customer drawings with accuracy and Bills of Material related to the company's products as per the latest company design standards/guidelines and industry and customer specifications using the designated CAD/CAM software, currently MicroStation and SolidWorks and NX (CAD/CAM) and SAP (ERP).
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
SAFETY:
* Abides by all customer and Nortrak safety policies and procedures while on customer & Nortrak sites.
* Ensures design specifications of drawings meet customer and Nortrak safety standards.
QUALITY:
* Produce practical designs and other design components (BOMs, ITPs, etc) for tooling and Nortrak product.

* Works closely with Manufacturing to address design/manufacturability issues.
* Assists and/or creates Customer Request for Information (RFI) to clarify information needed for projects, by including relevant information, customer specifications, and/or details required.

* Updating and revising drawings and BOM's as needed and/or directed.
* Designer checks their own work for accuracy before submitting their designs to other personnel for official checking and approving.

Task will include but not be limited to:
Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to maintain 100% Up-time including: fire/life safety, mechanical systems such as (HVAC, chillers, crac, crah, plumbing, controls), electrical including emergency backup systems such as (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers), and hot water systems. Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment. Must record readings and make and adjust where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Learn and understand the data center site in-order to manage incidents and events that put the critical systems at risk.
Work order management, including CMMS, Vendor Management, and Customer Facing Tickets.
Understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
