Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), Carrier Servicing Systems Unit is seeking a highly motivated mechanical engineer to join a world-class team developing the FORD class aircraft carrier reactor servicing system and other servicing initiatives in support of the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program. Responsibilities include developing novel equipment designs with supporting structural analyses through both hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis, fit-up evaluations, testing, and drawing development as well as the associated software used to operate the equipment (i.e. reactor servicing procedures and requirements). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage and insert technologies into equipment designs, such as additive manufacturing.
