Job Description
We are seeking a project engineer to join our growing team. This position will perform multiple tasks related to structural engineering including structural design, structural consultations, and structural assessments for existing and new residential and commercial structures. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from ABET-accredited university (Required).
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and registered as an Engineering Intern (E.I.) in the State of Colorado (Required).
Fully authorized to work within the United States (Required).
Progressive experience in structural engineering, which can include experience in design, assessment, consulting, and/or forensics of both new and existing structures.
Must have knowledge of current construction standards and building practices.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service, written and oral communication, and time management skills.
Proactive, team player mindset with willingness to take on various responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:
· Lead electromechanical design efforts for new spaceflight hardware, from concept to high volume production.
· Devise and document new engineering approaches to legacy solutions. Provide technical support for existing technologies.
· Create product requirements, detailed electromechanical designs, analytical reports, interface drawings, assembly instructions, test plans, and other documentation in collaboration with other departments.
· Provide technically sound support in a timely manner to other business units, including Test, Manufacturing, Planning, Mission Assurance, Quality, and Procurement.
· Mediate competing requirements and trades between disciplines for complex systems and mechanisms (e.g. on-orbit performance vs. electrical power availability vs. mechanical packaging constraints vs. thermal limitations vs. manufacturability).
· Manage electromechanical aspects of multiple complex projects simultaneously, with responsibility for meeting technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
· Responsible for investigation, resolution, and closure for product non-conformances. Support post-delivery issues with internal teams and external customers.
· Lead meetings and technical exchanges with internal teams and external customers. May provide technical advice on an ad-hoc basis to management and other departments.
· Delegate tasks as necessary and train individuals to reinforce critical engineering skills.
· Contribute to long-term product roadmaps and business strategies.
· May include personnel management responsibilities and other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering with 12+ years of mechanical work experience. Advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of requisite work experience.
· Expert level experience in CAD. Solidworks preferred.
· Advanced mechanical analysis experience (structural, thermal, etc.). Ansys preferred.
· Extensive knowledge of, and design experience with, motors, actuators, sensors, controls, bearings, magnets, and other electromechanical sub-systems.
· Demonstrated experience designing new and complex products on in a fast-paced environment.
· Able to supervise and mentor a group of professional engineers and staff engaged in complex engineering activities.
· Intermediate experience programming in at least one common software language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Java, LabView).
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The purpose of the Senior Product Engineer is to work within the Bituminous Portfolio providing technical design and testing support for all of JM's polymer modified bituminous products, roof systems and manufacturing processes.
POSITION SCOPE: Perform technical evaluations and testing to support the development and use of new and existing bituminous membrane products/systems. Work closely with outside suppliers to improve product performance and address quality issues. Own and maintain all technical documents related to bituminous membrane product line. Provide technical support to assist Product Managers with business needs.
Your Day to Day:
Work in laboratory environment to design polymer modified bitumen coating formulations and implement them at the production-scale
Understand and learn all tests and methods required for bituminous membrane products and associated ASTM and internal standards
Maintain all specifications related to the bituminous membrane products
Provide data for supporting literature related to bituminous membrane products
Research, test, and document competitive products
Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with raw material specifications and requirements
Define and execute testing programs for qualification of new materials, systems and accessories to support and grow the profitability of JM's Roofing Systems business
