Educational Foundation: A recent bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic/Manufacturing Engineering, Mining/Materials Science Engineering or a related field.

The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to support the successful execution of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Commercial Operation Date (COD). This role is critical in ensuring project success by providing technical expertise, resolving design challenges, and collaborating with key stakeholders to meet project objectives. The ideal candidate will work closely with EPC contractors, owners' engineers, and internal teams to manage technical documentation, oversee design modifications, and support commissioning and testing efforts.
This position reports to the Head of Project Engineering - ESS.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Project Execution
Partner with Project Managers and serve as the primary technical contact, providing expertise and resolving challenges throughout project execution.
Manage design modifications, retrofits, and rework activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, schedules, and contractual obligations.
Ensure seamless coordination with overseas R&D and Application Engineering teams to deliver on contractual technical commitments.
Documentation & Compliance Management
Oversee the development and management of project-related technical documentation deliverables, including design drawings, specifications, compliance records, and as-built documentation, to meet project milestones and customer requirements.
Ensure all technical documentation is accurate, up to date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Guarantee compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
Responsible for delivering any revisions of technical deliverables as needed, collaborating with overseas and local resources to ensure such revisions meet contractual obligations and customer expectations.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with Sales Technical Solution Engineers to understand contractual technical deliverables and ensure alignment with project needs.
Engage with EPC contractors and owners' engineers to address pre-design technical queries, ensuring alignment with project specifications and minimizing delays.
Act as a liaison between internal teams, external contractors, and project stakeholders to maintain clear and effective communication regarding technical quiries.
Testing & Commissioning Support
Facilitate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities and work closely with overseas departments, including Application Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing teams, to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to contractual obligations.
Work closely with the local service team, including FSE and CoE, as well as overseas teams, including PMO and R&D, to provide technical support for commissioning, performance testing, and interconnection testing, ensuring seamless project delivery.
Problem-Solving & Risk Mitigation
Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues to maintain project quality and timelines.
Develop and implement practical solutions to mitigate risks and overcome project execution challenges.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in energy storage, power systems, renewable energy, or related industries is preferred.
Strong understanding of BESS technologies, grid interconnection, and power system engineering.
Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
Travel:
Up to 20-40% travel, depending on project needs.
