ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work safely and reinforce acceptable safety procedures/standards in the workplace.

Operate with little supervision and capable of working in field locations (travel required)
Maintain current drivers license, and either have or be able to obtain a CDL.
Diagnose, assess, and repair mechanical failure in a broad range of drilling rigs, vehicles, and auxiliary equipment.
Occasional contact with suppliers and manufacturers of parts, vehicles, and all equipment needed for drilling operations.
Repair and maintain vehicles, plant, or equipment as required by following basic inspection procedures under the direction of the Maintenance Manager
Prepare a parts list and estimates of times required for repairs/maintenance procedures.
Maintain accurate records of repairs/costs associated with workshop and field maintenance programs Other duties as assigned by supervisory management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normal work environment will be based in the Shop with frequent travel to job sites in a range of climates. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions including cold, heat, snow, rain, or sunshine. Must be comfortable living and working in remote mine environments with close quarters and limited communication at times.

The Sr. Field Mechanic with MYR Group you'll travel to project sites across the designated service area, supporting our field teams. Perform mechanic assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations

Mechanic Job In Utah
Do you have experience working on heavy equipment? The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is looking for someone who takes charge and has a high standard of workmanship to fill a Journey Diesel Mechanic position in the Region Three Equipment Shop.
You will ensure that maintenance vehicles, such as snow plows, are functioning properly and most importantly- safely. While you will work in a shop environment, this position will also travel to different sites throughout the region to help maintain heavy duty trucks and equipment that are unable to be brought into the shop.
Principal Duties
As a Journey Diesel Mechanic, you will:
Perform general services including oil changes, collect oil samples, lube equipment and perform safety inspection.
Perform mechanic duties including inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, overhauling, and repairing UDOT equipment.
Inspect parts for wear, breaks, and defects.
Use diagnostic testing and calibrating equipment for repairs.
Transporting equipment as needed
Perform cutting, brazing, and welding as needed.
Select and order repair parts.
Complete necessary paperwork to account for parts and labor.
Operate tools necessary to perform duties of job, including pneumatic tools, power tools, hand tools, and test equipment.
Road test all equipment before and after repair.
Maintain equipment records; read and interpret repair manuals.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must have
At least four (4) years of directly related professional experience or substitution of directly related education for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months after hire.
A State Inspection certificate or the ability to obtain one within 90 days after hire.
24-hour availability and be available for overtime and varied work schedules.
Your own full set of mechanics tools (tool allowance will be provided).

As a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TEMP-INDEF) (TITLE 32), WG-5378-5/8/10, you will:
* Responsible for the accurate interpretation of numerous manufacturer drawings, specifications, operating instructions, and test procedures, to troubleshoot, calibrate, align and repair a variety of highly complex pieces of powered support equipment.
* Troubleshoots, repairs, adjusts and aligns down sized powered support equipment.
* Uses a variety of sophisticated testers, such as analyzers, digital meters, oscilloscopes and other measuring devices to determine repair requirements.
* Corrects unusual maintenance problems, by interpreting a variety of technical data such as tables, charts, formulas, color codes, wiring diagrams, and schematic symbols.
* Does circuit analyses, considers integrated circuit relationships, and applies electronic principles in order to fault-isolate and repair the various digital devices contained in highly complex powered support equipment.
* Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing, repair, and adjustments on complex rotary diesel engines.
* Must independently determine work sequences, specifications, and special procedures to be used to fault-isolate and repair unusual problems in various pieces of powered support equipment.
* Performs intermediate-level maintenance on powered support equipment and non-powered AGE.
* Engine rebuilding such as removal and replacement of crankshafts, pistons, and other integral parts.
* Replaces, checks and adjusts valves, bearings, cams, clutches, bushings, springs, armatures, pushrods, exhaust manifolds, tubing, hose and defective wiring.
* Diagnoses gas turbine malfunctions, using visual and auditory senses, test equipment and applicable technical publications; makes repairs, removes, disassembles and assembles components and sub-systems.
* Troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, modifies and operates aerospace ground equipment such as AC and DC power generators, various types of internal combustion engines, air compressors, blowers, hydraulic test stands, cabin leakage testers, portable diesel engine driven generators, emergency lighting units, de-icers, heaters, load banks, hydrostatic testers, cryogenic carts, decontamination units, thermal bath, vacuum pumps, flow meters, lavatory service trailers, air conditioners and various pieces of non-powered AGE.
* Performs maintenance data collection, and prepares other required forms. Maintains Technical Orders, Technical Order Files, commercial technical publications and other directives pertinent to the section.
* Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluation such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises.
* Participates and assists in conducting the necessary safety program for the Aerospace Ground Equipment activity.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience WG-05:

Specialized Experience WG-08:
Have experience must demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory and the makeup and operation of the various individual systems and their interrelationships. Experience using a small variety of test and measurement devices. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components and accessories. Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Specialized Experience WG-10:
Have experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

This candidate will be a self-starter who must be able to lead a project team of technicians. Interaction with customers, attention to detail in quoting jobs, scheduling technician hours, promoting safety and constant communication play a key role in this position.
