ABOUT THE ROLE MightyFly is looking for a seasoned airframe team lead, who will be responsible for planning and leading the design, architecture, implementation and testing of the MightyFly autonomous cargo transport aircraft. Specific responsibilities extend from designing aircraft from the ground up, into building the team and leading the team. The work will span a broad swath from system engineering, into mechanical, aerodynamics and manufacturing, into working closely with the software team and MightyFly's leadership. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated, passionate about hybrid eVTOL aircraft development, and have a strong interest in working in a small, fast paced team where a variety of skills will need to be applied day to day. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead MightyFly's autonomous aircraft design, development and manufacturing. Lead and grow our hardware team. The creation and execution of the hardware development roadmap, aligning hardware milestones and development, with company-wide plan, goals and strategy. Work with the team, consultants, vendors, and contractors to realize designs. Development, implementation, and execution of test fixtures and infrastructure to verify the functionality and robustness of the autonomous aircraft. Hardware support and participation in flight tests to validate our system's functionality. Hardware requirements specification, management and tracking, with an eye towards certification when necessary. Contributing to high-level planning and architecture discussions in collaboration with other team members. Documenting designs and tests. Providing documentation and technical information for certification purposes.
