Cooling: Diagnose cooling system problems, flushes radiator, replaces hoses and thermostats, repairs or replaces radiator and water pump, fans and fan drives, additives and DCA treatment filters, air intercoolers and oil coolers. Drive: Repairs and replaces drive shaft, differential, axles, seals, fluids and additives, manual, automatic and sophisticated computer-controlled transmissions, clutches, transfer cases, power take-off systems, transmission reversers, all-wheel drive steering axles. Electrical: Repairs or replaces fuses, batteries, lights, instruments, warning devices, controls and switches, computer controls, modules, alternators, starters, and defective cables and wiring. This will include 12 and 24-volt DC systems found on commercial vehicles and equipment. Exhaust and Emissions Control: Diagnose exhaust and emission control problems, replace mufflers, manifolds, catalytic converters, turbochargers, blowers, clamps and pipes. Heating and Air Conditioning: Repairs or replaces heater cores, condensers, compressors, hoses, and controls; recharges air conditioning systems (HVAC/MVAC). Hydraulic: Repairs or replaces pumps, hoses, valves, winches and cylinders. Air: Diagnose air brake problems, repairs or replaces compressors, air dryers, air brake components, air brake valves, air tanks and hoses. Steering and Suspension System: Diagnose steering, suspension and unusual tire wear problems, repairs or replaces tie rods, ball joints, gear boxes, shock absorbers, springs, steering linkage, kingpins, power steering, hoses, pumps, clamps, air springs/suspensions and related controls. Inspection: Follow a checklist of inspection procedures Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and driveability issues. Pay Rate - Starting at $20+ DOE Requirements - 3-5 years of experience with both gas and diesel engine repair. Must have basic set of general tools Must pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Physical. Must have valid driver's license. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to work 10-12 hour shifts Monday - Friday, with the occasional Saturday. Experience utilizing machines/equipment as follows: hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, multimeter, tachometer, welder, cutting torch, hydraulic gear puller, electric forklifts, pallet jacks, and platform lifts. *Special Consideration for applicants who posses CDL Licenses. Responsibilities - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical material handling equipment. Perform emergency mechanical repairs to failed material handling systems.
