Responsible for assisting Departmental Manager and Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts and assemblies, as well as the installation and testing of aircraft systems and equipment following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals. Essential Job Functions: Perform all of the job functions of a Flight Line Mechanic II plus the following: • Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements as well as aircraft and systems testing including release of Malibu turbine engine aircraft for Production Flight Testing. • Perform initial engine set up and adjustments and taxi all turbine model aircraft. • Required to accompany flight test pilots in making in-flight adjustments to various aircraft systems as needed. • Able to diagnose and rework complex pre and post flight discrepancies to achieve safe flight operations. • Work independently with minimal direction from department Supervisor. • Ability to and willingness to train and mentor teammates within Career Path. • Interfacing with other departments regarding quality concerns to resolve expeditiously and in a cost-effective manner • Pre-certification acceptance inspection of complete aircraft and aircraft systems • Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity. • Adhere, maintain, assist and train teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs. • Perform audits of areas within the department as required to maintain compliance with all FAA and Piper operational requirements. Initiate related operational process or procedural corrective action or request additional assistance from leadership or other support teams where necessary. • Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.
