The Opportunity
We are pursuing qualified candidates to fill Elevator Mechanic positions in the Maintenance & Operations Section. Selected candidates will maintain, inspect, and repair operating and safety features of elevators, dumbwaiters, and escalators and maintain and inspect electronic control panels, switches, relays, signal devices, and other related equipment. Position Responsibilities

Title: Journeyman Mechanic (Must be a Certified Welder)
Function: Repair and Maintain FlexiVan Chassis equipment.
Purpose/Summary:
Under direct supervision of shop manager or foreman must be able to repair chassis independently to be in full compliance of FMCSA and FlexiVan standards.
Key Responsibilities:
o Mechanics are under the supervision of the General Manager, Assistant Manager and Shop Foreman. Able to perform all repairs required to return chassis to a roadable condition.
o Review work order, inspect chassis and record all work to be performed. Review more involved repairs with Manager or Shop Forman before starting work.
o Identify any repairs required that are not on the work order. Review repairs with Manager or Foreman prior to undertaking such work.
o Understand and adhere to all shop safety rules and requirements.
o Keep shop area clean and free of potential hazards.
o Able to perform repairs within the time allowed.
o Own and maintain small tools required to perform duties.
o Physically able to perform heavy lifting
Education and Experience
o High School Diploma or GED
o Required: Certified Welder, proficient in the various types of welding necessary to repair equipment including MIG and stick.
o Preferred 3 years of Trailer mechanical experience.
o Must own related tools.
Technical Skills and Competencies Required:
o Physically able to work on equipment including heavy lifting, bending and long periods of standing and walking.
o Cutting: Able to use torch and plasma cutter.
o Use of various specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose, isolate and repair faults.
o Proficient in the use of various air tools: impact guns, grinders, drills etc.
o Proficient in the use of small hand tools.
o Inspect, diagnose and repair/replace braking system components including brake shoes, hardware, seals, cam shafts, bushings, spider, slack adjusters and brake chambers.
o Verify condition of axles and components including hubs, lubrication for contaminants, bearings, races, mounting hardware, rims, tires and spacers.
o Inspect chassis frame, bolsters, pick up plates, king pin and cross members for cracks or deficiencies. Plan and perform any welding or metal fabrication work.
o Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical system including 7 way plug, wiring harness, pig tails and bulbs.

Ensure work orders are properly filled out Convey all information in an intelligent and professional manner to the proper contact at the customer's location to ensure customer satisfaction
Operate a company vehicle, keep in good working order, and maintain accountability for vehicle's inventory
Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner while commuting.
Ensure and maintain outstanding communication with Service and Management on any customer related issues
Maintain and account for all company assigned property
Maintain and keep valid drivers license and record clean
Ability to operate a fork lift or pallet jack
Practice safety and good housekeeping practices at customer site while representing Motive Energy.
Represent Motive Energy in an a professional manner in accordance with company Standards.
PPE is required and will be provided
Experience with shop and hand tools
Forklift experience and or certification
Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the repairs that need to be performed
Critical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and decision making ability
Ability to deal with difficult situations and maintain positive attitude
Ability to prioritize and multi task between service calls
Must be detail oriented when conducting administrative tasks and paperwork
Pays $20-$22.50/hour
