Inspects brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating conditions. Performs routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery requiring the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists. Trains/provides guidance to other Mechanics. Performs other related duties as assigned. Perform routine preventive maintenance to enhance equipment performance and minimize downtime. Identify and replace defective components, ensuring high standards of machinery operation. May conduct welding (stick, MIG, TIG) and operate machine tools (lathe, Bridgeport, drill press) as needed.
