Job Title: Biomed Technician Job Summary: As a competent Biomedical Technician, must be skilled in the diagnosis and repair of simple and complex medical devices. The Biomed Technician also possesses a strong knowledge of biomed center operations and has the people skills necessary to act as a go to resource for other associates. Expected to serve as a mentor for Associate Biomedical Technicians to improve the competency and expand capabilities of our technicians. The Biomedical Technician is expected to support efforts to sustain an efficient and effective operation, as well as demonstrate boundaryless teamwork and assist in any function and/or role within the Biomed Center. Shift: Monday through Friday 7 AM to 6 PM, 8-hour shift range Responsibilities: Responsible for performing testing, service, and repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment. Assures clean and orderly service area, providing a safe environment for service personnel. Responsible for meeting individual and department productivity goals. Must be competent with inventory processes, utility technician responsibilities and must complete all required training as directed by leader. Serves as a mentor and coach, sharing knowledge and expertise effectively with Associate Biomedical Technicians. May be required to assist with internal or external audits and/or inspections. Biomed Technicians are required to communicate with vendors and customers in a professional and effective manner to resolve tasks. Minimum Requirements: Typically requires 1+ years of related experience. Additional Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Preferred experience or education in an electronic field, preferably biomedical, or a combination of education and experience. Experience and/or willingness to learn the process of diagnosing and ultimately servicing various biomedical devices preferred. Exposure or be willing to learn how to repair respiratory devices preferred. Preferred biomedical Associates Degree, similar healthcare technology management degree, biomedical related military experience, vocational certification, related experience in medical device repair, or experience with biomedical programming/use. Vocational certificate needs to be issued from an Accredited Certificate Program. Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair medical devices in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Performs all job tasks at a high level of quality and detail, meeting or exceeding productivity expectations. Maintains compliance with all applicable standards (SOPs and work instructions) in performing job duties. Good decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize work. Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results. Organized with strong time management and communication skills. Demonstrates aptitude to learn the use of biomedical systems (i.e., OneTrack) and various device testing software. Strong commitment to the McKesson i2Care and iLead principles.
