ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support a maximum of 10 beginning teachers using the South Carolina Mentoring Model
Willingness and the ability to engage in non-evaluative assessment processes, including the ability to hold planning and reflective conversations with beginning teachers about their classroom practices
Engage in the Formative Evaluation Process with beginning teachers based on the South Carolina Teaching Standards and have the ability to communicate areas of reinforcement and refinement using the ADEPT 4.0 Rubric
Observe and/or meet weekly with each beginning teacher to provide suggestions and formative feedback
Complete all required record keeping prior to deadlines
Work collaboratively with beginning teachers and building Administrators

Middle Level STEMS Mathematics Teacher at Westview Middle School.
The STEMS Magnet Program at Westview Middle School offers students an opportunity to develop their academic skills in an environment that enhances their science and math abilities. STEMS is designed to develop and refine scientific and mathematical achievement while allowing students to practice skills in exploratory classes. STEMS includes Gateway To Technology, a middle school component, which builds on the district's engineering curriculum, and Project Lead the Way, offered at the G. Frank Russell Technology Center. STEMS offers a rigorous gifted and talented curriculum supported by activities designed to help all students explore math, science, and technology. Curriculum includes state academic standards and extensive activities in areas of science and math.
