POSITION SUMMARY
The Reading Intervention Teacher monitors data gathered from the Universal screening tool and progress monitors those students who have been identified with characteristics of Dyslexia, in response to Senate Bill 48 which requires the school District to identify, monitor, and support students in grades K-3 who demonstrate characteristics of or who have been diagnosed with Dyslexia. The Reading Intervention Teacher will be responsible for the provision of direct instruction to students in the general education setting who meet the diagnostic criteria for Dyslexia. This position reports to the Director of Student Behavioral Health and Well-Being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes progress monitoring data to provide direct support to identified students through the structured Dyslexia curriculum. Monitors the progress of students in the general education curriculum who require Dyslexia instruction.
Tracks data and manages the referral of students within the MTSS process. Develops and maintains District reports and provides updated data from assigned schools and the District office.
Meets compliance, data collection, monitoring of intervention and progress monitoring data for Tier 2 and 3 students.
Develops and conducts professional development activities regarding modification techniques that can be utilized by classroom teachers to address academic deficits that relate to serving students diagnosed with Dyslexia.
Assists instructional staff with development of instructional strategies/techniques and interventions for students who have characteristics of Dyslexia.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or higher in education or content area associated with area of responsibility required.
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience required.

Job Summary
Responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher to teach a high quality, culturally competent, project-based curriculum, engaging students in reading, writing, math, and science throughout the six-week Horizons summer enrichment program. The primary goal of Horizons is to reverse the trend of summer learning loss that adversely impacts the long-term success of underserved students. The assistant teacher will work with one class of 15 students that range from rising 1st through 8th grade and will be part of a team that consists of a Lead Teacher and an Instructional Assistant.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the Lead Teacher to provide an engaging and fun classroom experience for all campers while providing effective classroom management
2. Assist the Lead Teach to develop and implement creative and engaging camp
3. Maintains a positive and enthusiastic attitude with staff, parents, campers and others
4. Demonstrates professionalism, timeliness, effective communication, problem-solving, patience, flexibility, etc.
5. Assist with the implementation of a project-based curriculum that includes reading, writing, math and science to rising 1st through 8th graders
6. Assist Lead Teacher as directed during morning academic instruction
7. Direct a small group in activities developed by Lead Teacher
8. Assist with community-building games, enriching experiential learning opportunities, and accompany students to swimming lessons and field trips
