Role Description:

Performs picking and packing of stock items for work orders. Performs staging of stocked and non-stocked items by work order. Issues materials to work orders at time of transfer.
Uses handheld and desktop computers for data entry ensuring accurate, complete and timely data entry.
Performs a physical inventory count on all scheduled inventory items and enters results into the system. Conducts year-end physical inventory and regular cycle counting. Assists in the verification and reconciliation of discrepancies during the physical inventory.
Unloads materials from trucks and trailers. Loads trucks and trailers for shipment and delivery.
Loads, transports, and delivers items between warehouses and end user locations, and on emergency/expedited basis pick-up items from suppliers and delivers items to maintenance work crews.
Operates all warehouse equipment (including cranes) to load and transport materials to Authority's customers and vendors when necessary.
Inspects, maintains facilities equipment, and reports any safety findings to the supervisor. Complies with applicable safety rules and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Required Experience: Three (3) years of progressive related warehouse material handling experience that includes experience with warehouse management software and use of personal computer and handheld wireless equipment for data entry. Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Required Skills: Must possess and maintain current a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License and a DC Water Vehicle Endorsement. Ability to lead the work of others and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of supply operational functions. Complete knowledge of the processes and methods used in performing the work, operating the equipment and vehicles. Knowledge of and ability to operate heavy equipment. Knowledge of established trade practices and techniques to select and install weigh handling gear used in lifting, moving, and positioning a variety of large and heavy objects. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Knowledge of computers and applicable software programs. Required Licenses & Certifications: Must possess and maintain or acquire within 12 months from date of hire and maintain a current Forklift certification. Required Languages: English Physical Requirements: Subject to indoor and/or outdoor environmental conditions that may include exposure to extreme cold, damp, drafty and hot temperature. Subject to noise, vibration, and to hazards from a variety of physical conditions. Subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin such as dust, mists, grease, bad weather conditions, and poor ventilation.

Essential Job Functions (Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities Most Important for the Job)
Research previous locations, locate hot stock for waving purposes and complete tasks.
Lock Inventory to Lost and communicates with the Inventory Department.
Responsible for observing housekeeping, safety and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility; Stay within compliance of the company policies regarding safety.
Work with Wave Planning, Inventory Control, and Training to ensure the adherence of area processes.
Secondary Functions (If Applicable - Any Duties Not Considered Essential)
Perform other tasks as assigned, including pulling during low volume periods.
Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution Center
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements (Minimum Competencies Required for Job Performance)
Must be able to operate Lift Trucks (Order picker/Reach truck).
Must be able to operate within WMOS using all task functions including (ROL's).
Proven team member with skills to multi-task.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with others (Supervisors and co-workers).
Basic math and reading skills.
Must have the ability to abide by all of Carter's policies and procedures and know, understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures.
High school diploma or a GED preferred, not required.
Six months in an automated distribution center environment preferred.
Must be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs.
Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required.
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to fifty pounds.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
Holiday schedule to be decided by Management.
Must be available to work overtime during peak periods including days off of normal shift.
Comply with Blackout Periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) as determined by Management.
