Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management. Key Areas of Responsibility: Inspect and report upon equipment daily at the beginning of each shift to ensure all safety precautions are being implemented. Scale full Paige Trailers and bring them to the bullpen, and scale empty Paige Trailers to bring to the Scrap Room. Adhere to the scrap process to include removing and replacing scrap with roll off trailer & responding when contacted to swap, recording and weighing of the scrap roll offs, and transporting scrap roll off to the staging area. Supply and deliver proper amounts of shipping/WIP racks. Load and unload outside trucks, and verify incoming racks per BOL. Transfer dies, finished parts, and empty racks/totes utilizing flatbed trailers. Provide assistance when needed for loading and unloading outside dies and tooling. Trailer switching. Adhere to outside rack layout. Verify that product matches paperwork for shipping/WIP racks. Commitment/adherence to department cross training. Maneuver the Taylor-100 “Big Red” 100,000-ton hilo. Operate switcher to maintain bullpen and move trailers as required. Rack and die inventory management. Participate/maintain TPM/5S objectives in warehouse, pole barns, fork trucks, outside grounds, etc. Maintain safety and housekeeping standards. Raising/Lowering trailers. Connecting/Removing air lines. Chocking wheels. Follow the damage trailer process (tagging trailers with tag describing when, what was damaged, etc.). Clearing scrap pad. Additional duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Must have a valid Driver's License, and Fork Truck License or the ability to obtain one. Motor City Wash Works is a growing company, come grow with us! We are looking for a safe, responsible, and detail-oriented person to join our team as an Inter-company delivery driver and material handler. Driving company-owned box, stake, and pick-up trucks (w/ trailer) not requiring a commercial driver's license, between our 3, Metro Detroit facilities. Driver starts and ends their day at same location, home every night. Responsibilities Transport manufacturing materials between company facilities and outside process service providers. Operate company vehicles in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner. Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle safety inspection reports. Ensure that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are appropriately addressed before driving. Fuel vehicle and maintain cleanliness of the interior of the vehicle. Qualify loads for accuracy. Plan cargo placement within a box truck, or on a flatbed, to ensure safe transport. Properly secure cargo with transport straps and/or chains. Operate a forklift to load and unload shipments. Communicate and coordinate with Production Managers and the Safety Officer. Assist shipping and receiving teams with material handling and stocking duties between driving requirements. Maintain a clean driving record. Qualifications/Skills Ability to pass DoT Physical and drug screening. Valid driver's license. Clean driving record, with no accidents or traffic violations in the previous 3 years. Minimum 3 years driving experience. Trailer-tow experience (receiver, 5th wheel, or gooseneck hitch) preferred, but not required. Forklift operator experience preferred, but not required. Commercial driver's license is not required for this position. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, required to sit for up to 2 hours; use hands to grip, handle, or feel. The employee must be able to hear and see. Work environment: Indoors, heated; Frequently, outdoors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
