About Our Opportunity
We are looking for a Temporary / Seasonal Material Handler to work in our Vicksburg, MS Service Center Warehouse. You'll play a hands-on role in ensuring farmers get the materials they need for a successful season. Job Duration: Estimated 3-5 months
Summary/Objective
Perform tasks essential to agricultural wholesale warehouse operations. Coordinates inbound/outbound deliveries, packs and loads product using a forklift, cleans and organizes storage areas, assists with cycle counts, and maintains a safe, clean work area.
Essential Functions
Handle and store hazardous materials, such as pesticides, fertilizers, or chemicals, in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines; follows all safety regulations and guidelines
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, goggles, and protective clothing, when working with hazardous materials
Ensure that hazardous materials are labeled correctly, stored securely, and segregated to prevent chemical reactions or contamination
Regularly inspect and maintain safety equipment, such as eyewash stations and emergency spill kits, and know their locations in case of emergencies
Ensures equipment is in good, working condition; reports any discrepancies to site leadership
Performs regular warehouse duties, including product storage, product staging and bagging
Drives a forklift to transport inbound products for storage and outbound products for delivery
Organizes products in accordance with local procedures
Follows logical sequence of loading and unloading trucks and/or rail cars and hand palletizing finished product
Maintains a quality and professional image with customers and is responsive to their needs
Pulls orders in accordance with purchase order requests
Loads/unloads pallets (e.g., pulling and placing bags on pallets, operating bag machinery)
Assists other warehouse employees in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural warehouse
Other associated duties
Cleans warehouse and site to ensure a welcoming environment, as well as safe, sanitary working conditions

Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., product storage, product staging, etc.) preferred
Experience driving a forklift (e.g., performing basic operations such as driving forwards, driving backwards, lifting, and lowering boom, maneuvering in tight areas without damaging products, etc.) preferred
Experience working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.)

Work Environment

Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparing materials to be used for packaging and shipping of finished coils
Responsible for packaging finished coils in a safe manner and moving those coils in a safe manner to a designated location for finished goods.
Responsible for verifying that finished goods (coils) are properly identified with an identification ticket prior to moving them to a storage area.
Responsible for verifying that finished goods (coils) are not damaged or visibly non-conforming prior to moving them to a designated storage area.
Responsible for quarantining non-conforming material (using the HFI process) and notifying Quality Control when non-conforming conditions exist.
Responsible for understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated with the Quality and Environmental Management System in place at BlueScope Coated Products. Communicates daily with internal personnel from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control in order to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals.
Salary: $20/hour and $1.50 shift differential for second shift

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include receiving product, fulfilling, packaging, and shipping orders within established team goals to ensure on time order delivery.
