POSITION SUMMARY The Production Operator positions are a vital piece of our manufacturing operations. You will be required to meet all Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental standards when performing job duties. The primary responsibilities in these roles include but are not limited to operating various lines of equipment in production, packaging, moving raw material or finished packaged goods with a forklift or other pallet jack, and providing relief for absences or vacations. These roles exist on our continuous operations scheduled shifts and the opportunity for mandatory or voluntary overtime exists on these shifts. Must be willing to work a 12 hour overnight shift - 7PM to 7AM - On a 2/2/3 schedule Supply production lines and meat prep stations with adequate supplies to ensure continuous operations. Measure, weigh, blend and add materials to manual or automated systems, adjust speeds, temperatures, as needed. Pull samples and perform quality test, assist on quality trials or deliver test samples to Quality Assurance. Visually inspect ingredients and any substandard pallets or cans and remove any foreign materials from products. Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment ensuring safe practices when mixing cleaning chemicals used in the sanitation process. Safely and efficiently operate, troubleshoot, and make minor repairs on operating equipment and use lock out procedures, as prescribed. Support the factory in continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Other Manufacturing, Production, or Warehouse experience is preferred Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime. Verify and calibrate testing equipment ensuring proper maintenance and care. Verify and monitor chemical concentrations through routine testing and inspection. Assist with chemical inventory, SDS management, and chemical training. Perform routine facility inspections (GMP, Post-op, etc.) working with production and sanitation teams to maintain high-quality standards. Support general food safety and quality training for all staff and facility training for junior staff members on quality job specific responsibilities. Maintain current knowledge of SQF code and participate in Internal Audits for continuous improvement of SQF Program. Comply with all food safety procedures, regulatory requirements and process efficiencies Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Thorough and accurate completion of paperwork and reports, ensuring retention of all records Support operations and assist co-workers as needed All issues or non-conformances related to food safety or quality assurance must immediately be reported to the FSQA Manager or designated supervisor for investigation, product disposition, containment, and corrective action. The Manufacturing Technician is intended to be a shorter-term position ranging from 6 to 12 months in duration, to allow the employee time for training to become proficient in safely performing production responsibilities according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in any one of three production areas. The production lines include glycerin refining, specialty vegetable oil refining, and the continuous vegetable oil refinery. Proficiency is defined as completion of all documented training for that system and a working understanding of the process including potential for process improvements, utility requirements, troubleshooting, and minimum maintenance training. Continuous improvement is a primary focus of all AgCertain employees. Responsibilities and Duties: Operate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environments Be able to demonstrate a basic and continuously increasing understanding of the Glycerin Refining Line 1, or Vegetable Oil refining Line 2, and the associated utility systems within the processing production areas, including formal testing and evaluation procedures Follow all written procedures (SOPs) and work instructions that pertain to the respective area.
