Duties and responsibilities

Mows and edges lawns. Rakes leaves, hoes weeds, and cleans trash from assigned areas including parking lots. Prepares and treats soils for planting. Show willingness and initiative on all projects and duties. Demonstrate grounds skills in the performance of daily tasks.
Operate and maintain equipment and tools for grounds and pest control operations; operate all equipment properly, following proper procedures including safety precautions; service equipment accordingly.
Performs pruning, thinning and constructing supports for trees and shrubs. May occasionally assist a qualified specialist with tree trimming, or nursery functions. Proper techniques are used and proficiency is demonstrated for this task. Planting and maintaining turf, shrubs, and trees. Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions to properly perform these tasks.
May occasionally assist a qualified specialist with sprinkler repair and performs minor sprinkler repair. Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and properly perform this task.
General cleanup. Assure that work stations are kept clean and neat, all tools and equipment are properly stored and the general area is kept free of trash and litter.
State employees may be required to serve as a disaster service worker and participate in disaster recovery efforts.

Walk the community daily and remove litter and debris from the grounds.
Remove trash daily from in and around the pool, pet walk stations, interior and exterior amenities, and vacated apartments.

IMPACT
What You'll Do as a Groundskeeper:
Walk the community daily and remove litter and debris from the grounds.
Remove trash daily from in and around the pool, pet walk stations, interior and exterior amenities, and vacated apartments.
Check and replace exterior lighting on a scheduled and as-needed basis.
Performing various physical tasks, such as tearing down fences, digging postholes, carrying furniture, etc.
Thoroughly clean all breezeways, including cleaning light fixtures, removing cobwebs and debris, and wiping down stair risers. Periodically power wash the inside breezeway walls.

Collaborate with the maintenance team to make sure the grounds, buildings, and amenities are always properly cared for
Daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds that includes cleaning and removing trash
Maintain, repair, and inventory all supplies and equipment owned by the property and the management company
Landscape the community as instructed
Assist maintenance team with minor service/repairs
Rake, sweep, shovel, and salt as circumstances warrant
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. What You'll Do as a Groundskeeper:
Walk the community daily and remove litter and debris from the grounds.
Remove trash daily from in and around the pool, pet walk stations, interior and exterior amenities, and vacated apartments.
Check and replace exterior lighting on a scheduled and as-needed basis.
Performing various physical tasks, such as tearing down fences, digging postholes, carrying furniture, etc.
Thoroughly clean all breezeways, including cleaning light fixtures, removing cobwebs and debris, and wiping down stair risers. Periodically power wash the inside breezeway walls.
