AMETEK is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Electrician who performs maintenance on production equipment and facilities including the following duties. The role will report to the Maintenance Manager at the Wallingford CT facility. This role is works hours can be on the first shift but a second shift employee is preferred. The pay range: $35/hr-$38/hr depending on experience (+ $1.25 shift differential).
Essential Duties:
Maintains and repairs all mechanical equipment in facility.
Inspects, repairs and performs overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, and conveyor systems.
Performs basic machine shop duties such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding and machining.
Conducts basic installation, maintenance, and modification on equipment and control systems.
Performs troubleshooting and repair of motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives and sub-electrical panels using volt-ohm-amp meters.
Available for rotating on call duty during weekends to address emergencies.
Conducting electrical repairs using 3 phase electricity.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
Skilled in the use of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair and overhaul of plant equipment.
Knowledge and understanding of the basic operating principles of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic/vacuum systems and components.
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions and inspection techniques of repairing and operating equipment in a food-manufacturing environment.
Ability to read, interpret and work from blue prints, technical sketches, manuals, and schematics in repair and overhaul of equipment and facilities.
Ability and willingness to use knowledge, creativity, and initiative in continuously improving bottom line results.
Ability and willingness to further develop skills and ability through formal education and practical internal and external training programs.
Elementary understanding of basic electrical maintenance with PLC and repair.
Qualifications:
High school diploma.
2+ years experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment preferably in a steel processing environment.
3+ experience in electricial work in an heavy industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.
Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, front-end loader, payloader)
Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform maintenance duties in an efficient, professional and neat workman like manner as directed and scheduled by the Facilities Manager or Assistant Manager.
Perform general repairs to school building fixtures, equipment and furniture as required to ensure a safe school environment at all times.
Respond to service calls, evaluates the issues and perform all work required to provide the safe use of electrical power and lightings in all school classrooms, kitchens and offices. Maintains a safe environment in all of the schools for all staff, students and visitors following all necessary safety practices.
Completes assigned works on a timely basis and with a high level of quality, cleanliness and accuracy.
Maintain an excellent attendance record. Reliability is mandatory.
Perform specific duties not limited to electrical repair and maintenance, to include the good and welfare of the entire school district. This includes snow removal, roof top drain cleaning, and moving furniture, assisting on special projects or school events and all other general duties as a maintenance mechanic.
Maintain appropriate personal appearance in presenting yourself to the school staff, students and visitors including wearing assigned uniforms and proper safety footwear.
Take self-initiative to maintain a high level of work standards. Must present excellent customer service skills in dealing with the school staff and students.
Must be able to work independently, diligently and exhibit pride in assigned duties.
Demonstrate proper care and respect for equipment, tools and supplies provided by the district to accomplish duties.
Accept assigned overtime as scheduled.
Cooperate, assist and get along with co-workers.
Display courteous, polite and helpful behavior to students, faculty and parents.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time. Requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 75 pounds. Requires vision and hearing correctable to within normal range for the operation of equipment. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting of bulky items, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Able to push large waste barrels and carts. Also required to operate snow removal equipment and perform snow shoveling. Requires working in all weather conditions for extended periods.

The Maintenance Mechanic serves under the direction of the Facilities Manager and the Assistant Facilities manager who are the primary supervisors and evaluators.
POSITION REQUIREMENT
Current State of Connecticut E-1 (preferred) or E-2 Electrical License
7 years' experience working as an electrician in a commercial or industrial capacity.
Ability to be available for evening and weekend work as required by the district for scheduled and non-scheduled duties.

About the position
In this position, you will be a key player in Lamothermic's daily production operations, by developing, implementing and maintaining some of the best equipment the industry has to offer. You will join a team whose goal is simple - employ the best people, technology, processes and materials to provide our customers with a quality investment casting.
Salary:
$32.00+/ Hour

Hours:
1st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
Perform preventive maintenance
Install new equipment
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
Perform machine modifications/upgrades.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Perform all other duties assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic.
Mechanical Aptitude
Experience with the following systems
Electrical wiring, conduit layout
Electronics. Ability to read & understand schematics.
Motor/bearing replacement
Ability to read & understand schematics.
Pneumatic
Welding (Preferred)
Understanding of PLC logic a plus.
