    Maintenance Electrician Job In Norristown, PA

    Full-time Description The Electrical Maintenance Technician will oversee the installation, assembly, repair, and maintenance of electrical components on production machinery. The ideal candidate should have a strong electrical background in troubleshooting electrical equipment including PLC's, motor controls, relays, sensors, switches, and other equipment up to 480VAC in a manufacturing environment. DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Essential Functions: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical components of various pieces of industrial equipment in a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment. Ensure that all aspects of the preventative and corrective maintenance programs are being fulfilled as they relate to electrical, mechanical and control system requirements. Partners up with Engineering and other technicians to order and install replacement parts for machines. Effectively diagnose machine electrical and mechanical system malfunctions and concisely detail root cause(s) of malfunctions while providing a remedy and action plan. Ability to understand detailed electrical and mechanical schematics Must have experience with 480-volt 3 phase wiring, some 480V work may be required Provide support to and install new equipment Repair, install and dismantle machinery and equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders, and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.). Maintain a safe work area. Requirements Have a strong background in machine maintenance with a solid fundamental understanding of electrical control systems Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI functions. Must be able to use analog and digital multimeters Works well independently and with others. Excellent communication skills. Organized with attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. Capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics. Welding/fabrication skills are a plus. Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED. Associate's Degree in a technical field, preferred. Two years technical experience. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel: This position does not require travel. Shift Hours: 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. All shifts receive a 30-minute unpaid lunch, daily. This is an on-site role. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The facility is not air conditioned and is subject to hot temperatures during the summer months. Many areas of the production floor have a very high noise level. Hearing protection is required in these areas. Regularly work near moving mechanical parts. Come in contact with fiberglass.
